(EN-PT) The score isn’t an 8 or 9 just because it’s a harem, and honestly I didn’t notice that when I first started watching, it’s just a genre I don’t really vibe with but yeah, the show does grab you and it’s great at keeping the story moving, every episode leaves you wanting to see the next one and to “make things trickier” the character Mai is SO good, like ridiculously good, that at some point you just wish the show was a simple little romance between her and Renako with the dynamic it already has going but look, the rating still stays solid because it’s undeniable how well the show introduces, develops, and wraps up the side characters, it’s done so well that I actually found myself rooting for Ajisai at one point because the chemistry with Renako was just that fun not to mention Satsuki who also got a great development, you start out with some aversion towards her and before long you’re sympathizing anyway, in the end I don’t put it under “recommend” because if I had known it was a harem from the start I probably wouldn’t have watched, and also because it’s kind of a niche thing, it’s just a corner of anime that doesn’t click with me (and damn, if it had been just Renako and Mai it would’ve been an easy 9... what a tragedy) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A nota só não é 8-9 porque é um harém, e eu não tinha percebido isso quando comecei a ver, é um gênero que eu particularmente não gosto muito mas sim, a obra fisga e é boa nesse sentido de movimentar a trama, cada episódio te deixa querendo ver o próximo e para “piorar” a situação a personagem Mai é TÃO boa, mas TÃO boa, que chega um momento que você só queria ver um animezinho simples do romance dela com a Renako com a dinâmica que a obra já traz e tals mas veja bem, a nota ainda continua boa porque é inegável que o show apresenta, desenvolve e finaliza muito bem as personagens secundárias, é tão bem feito que chegou num ponto que eu comecei a “torcer” pela Ajisai de tão massa que ficou a química dela com a Renako e afins sem contar a Satsuki que também foi super bem desenvolvida, você começa criando uma certa aversão a ela e logo já tá simpatizando enfim, no final eu não coloco em “recomendo” porque se eu soubesse que era harém antes de assistir provavelmente nem eu teria começado kkkkkk e também por ser algo de nicho e tals, é um espaço meio restrito e um nicho que não me agrada tanto (e PQP se fosse só Renako e Mai era um 9 fácil, que desgraça)

Love the comedy! Almost all punchline are hitting it! For romance part, this definitely not the deep complex romance type although there's love triangle in here...or square uhh but yea the drama wasn't very complex and hard to digest. Well the harem didn't really bothering me but i wish the writing of all heroine and mc can be better dunno why only ajisai seems interesting and likeable, mai who supposed to be main heroine lack of good personality imo. Renako as the mc too with her personality which sometimes she's aware sometimes she's blunt idk she's like bocchi with worse characters writing ahahah Oh and the fanservice gets me too ugh too annoying for my liking, and looks malegaze too even though it's a yuri anime (probably like citrus, a yuri anime for male audience) so yea wish they didn't really add too much fanservice Production wise it was mid just ur standard regular anime nothing special from it. So yea i love the comedy but other aspects weren't very convincing

There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless... is studio MOTHER's next attempt at a romance series, one that more than does the job. With such a small resume, I was a little worried, but it turns out to be something really special in the Girls Love genre. Story & Characters: There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless... centres around Renako Amaori, an over-the-top gamer and fellow introvert. She treats her friends like her everything, and, like any good introvert, isn't the greatest in certain social situations. This gets into trouble when she feels overwhelmed, and one day, goes to the roof to get some fresh air. It's there, for some hilarious reasons, she connects with the popular supermodel Mai Ouzaka. It's there that she asks Renako to be her girlfriend, to which she completely panics and says that she doesn't know a thing about relationships. It's from there that we view Renako's world from her view and she learns more about her friend circle, which includes Mai, the determined Satsuki Koto and the shy and withdrawn Ajisai Sena. Renako hangs out with these three characters mostly separately that makes up three distinct arcs in the series before coming to its conclusion. Mai is obviously the centre of our focus because she's the first to admit to loving Renako. Their hangouts are really quite sweet, despite the very "out-there" attitude that Mai takes in. They share moments that are just kind of perfect for the genre, while Mai does reveal some story bits about herself. I thought the story would drag out a lot more than it actually did, and in the end, I thought they did a really good job at showing us two very different people. The second arc, when we're hanging around Satsuki, is very different. Satsuki is very much the "leader" of these two, taking full command of what they do with extreme confidence. I'd say she's a lot less deep than Mai and Ajisai, but this arc was so entertaining and funny that it really does split itself off from the rest of the series really well. It's a good way to keep things fresh, even when the silliness takes itself too far sometimes. It's not that there isn't backstory related to Satsuki, particularly when they go to her house, but it's not as emotional as the rest of the series - and maybe on purpose. There is surely an audience for that. The final arc is when Renako is hanging out with Ajisai, and I'd say this was easily the best part of the series. Both characters are extremely withdrawn and even though Ajisai is introverted like Renako, it's definitely a different kind of introversion. They share some of the best moments in the series, and Ajisai is easily the deepest character in the series. She's got a lot going on for her, and there easily could be more, especially with the way they ended her arc off. Always wanting to be brave is her weakness, and she attempts to overcome that multiple times. She's fantastic. There really aren't a ton of side characters outside our main cast of four. Kaho Koyanagi is listed as a main character - and it's possible she gets story later - but she's really not around the story all that much. She feels very much like the silly fifth character, similar to Akira Hino in Adachi and Shimamura. Sure, there are some small snippets of other characters - namely Hitoe and Satsuki's mother, but they provided very brief entertainment. The series main cast were strong though, so maybe there isn't much more needed here. The series' most glaring weakness is that the series doesn't feel like it has much of a goal. I don't mean this is a bad way, but more-so in the fact that it's really hard to see where they're taking this. Mai's connection with Renako is very much in the background after her arc ends a few episodes in, and while we still see Mai hanging around the rest of the series, there's nothing to develop their relationship. It's very possible that this is only a problem because it's only twelve episodes long, but that sentiment could change in a hurry, as there is an announced five episode sequel announced already - a rarity for Yuri series these days for sure. (Story: 8/10, Characters: 9/10) Art: There is very little reason that this series should look as good as it is. There's so much shine and detail and I'm happy to see that studio MOTHER didn't spare that for a second - similar to another small name they did in More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers. This is also surprising because this series wasn't even on a major platform - it was literally on YouTube. (9/10) Sound: The OST, ED and OP all seemed fine and good for what the series wants. I never have high or low opinions on sub series' voice acting, but they seemed strong. (8/10) Overall: There's No Freaking Way I'll be Your Lover! Unless... was a fantastic watch from start to finish and I'm extremely happy to see that more is coming. This is the kind of production I was hoping for with Whisper Me A Love Song, and this series kind of shows what that series should have been. This series is so strong from top to bottom with very relatable characters, that another who likes the character-driven romance series really should give this one a try. (8/10)
