Kabushikigaisha Magi-Lumière 2nd Season

It's been 2 YEARS! And they delivered! I love this series even more now. Thanks for making one of my favorite manga into an anime! I really appreciate it! Since I have reviewed some of the things in season one, as always, I'm going to make a brief "review" of the second season. Plot/Story & Characters The story picked up immediately after season one. Kana and Hitomi do what Magical Girl always does and keep on encountering many problems in their way. Along with that, there are many character developments for Kana and others. Couldn't go wrong with that. Love to see the anime stay true to the manga. HOWEVER! That ending... THAT ENDING THOUGH! It gave me PTSD. I'm scared, champ. I have read the manga; I know what's coming. 😭 OST/SFX, Animation & VA They improved! THEY IMPROVED! How? JC Staff, where was this talent when OPM needed it? Like, the animation is improving; the overall looks improving. Heck, even the 3D was good. The intro and outro animations were still amazing. Also, Hoshou Marine, our lovely degenerate pirate VTuber, was in charge of the ED song? OOOOOOH BOY! What a treat! The VA didn't improve that much, but they're still doing a great job. Overall, it's still an improvement. AGAIN! Thank you so much! Overall, they went from 7.8 to 9.3/10 If you have watched the first season, what are you waiting for, man! Watch the second! You're missing out. (Yes, I'm galzing. Sorry if this was too biased. 😂)

Magical girls meets capitalism season 2, so how is it when compared to first? I would say it is as good as the first one was, it add to established story and characters and expanded upon it. Plain and simple - it is a good sequel to good show. Animation and music: industry standard. The quality is the same as it was in the first season, the scenes are well animated and do not lose quality as time goes. The battle get all the attention as it should. The music is nothing special, although the OP song is quite catchy. Overall - animation and music are doing their job well and that's about it. Outside battles it is nothing special. Characters: all the cast from previous season returns and we get a few new characters. The old gang is as enjoyable as they were in the first season, and the new faces bring their own unique sharm. Sadly, only few of them give some actual development as most time this time was put in the story. Still, for some of them we get some growth. Hitomi's past was explored, one new character got his motivations and life story explained and in the end Mei also gets spotlight. The bag guys we got this season are still mostly in dark but they bring that unpredictability into the mix which is more than welcome. Overall - old characters are as fun as ever and the new ones bring mostly good things in the mix. No major character development but the little we get is very good. Story: continuing from first season we are continuing the storyline about Kaii becoming even more dangerous, but with added element that humans are even more dangerous creatures than Kaii. The story of season 2 has three major arcs. And each arc has its own battle sequence and struggles. But they are mostly a transition arc as they are all tied to the bigger theme of what happened in the past and where will the future lead the magical girls and research around them and Kaii. Without any spoilers I would say that it is enjoyable and bit of unpredictable. In any case, what we get here is quite solid. Only serious critic I have is that the new bad guy appeared out of nowhere at the middle of the series and the main bad guy is literally playing with fire and is too stupid to see it. Other than that, it is an enjoyable story. Overall - the story continues theme from first season regarding Kaii and magical girls and builds further upon it. And it does that in combatant way all while leaving more questions to be answered in future seasons. Overall grade: 10 from me, it was a good show. Realistically, this anime is solid 8. It is in all sense a good sequel to interesting premise and fun characters. Few hurdles that it has are overshadowed by all the good things this show does. It is an easy recommendation, especially if you watched the first season. If they ever decide to continue the story with season 3 I will watch it for sure.
