Toujima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai

Toujima Kun wants to be a Kamen Rider was definitely a fun, comedy and action packed anime. I laughed at the silly jokes and it always hit. The director did a really good job. The scenes flow really great and at the time of jokes it looks amazing. The faces they make, OMG, its so funny. The story was kind of predictable but still enjoyable. The art style is amazing. The characters have their flaws and strengths and how they overcome it is really great. And the way they get into their characters is so funny lol. I think you'll like this anime a lot. I am writing a review because i liked it so much. I dont usually bother writing reviews.

This show is a hidden gem - or an obvious one, if you're a Kamen Rider fan already. For my part, I have never watched anything else to do with Kamen Rider, and just wanted a fun action anime after the disaster that is One Punch Man Season 3. And this show absolutely delivers! My jaw is legit hurting, because I am grinning throughout all of the episodes. The comedy ABSOLUTELY lands for me. The premise and the characters are wonderfully absurd and extremely entertaining already: adults who never stopped following their dreams, developed a case of 8th-grader syndrome (chuunibyou) and play pretend-hero against pretend-villains. Until shit gets real - literallly. The best part is, that the show plays all of this completely straight. You have some adults in wacky outfits fight against a literal evil superhuman organisation. And they are mopping the floor with them! While the show looks good in general, the fight scenes have my full attention because of the sheer visual and auditory impact. That is, if I am not preoccupied banging my head to one of the hardest OSTs I have ever heard in an anime. Every main character has their own theme song, which makes every fight hype as hell. I have never watched anything else to do with Kamen Rider. This show makes me want to start. While the first half was a straight 10/10, the second half sadly could not keep the momentum and quality of the first half. It was still very good, around an 8/10, which evens out to a 9/10 in the end.

To be honest, I didn't think I would like it. After all, it's the first time I've watched an anime to the end focused on protagonists who want to be real-life heroes like the ones they've watched on TV since they were kids. I thought about feeling secondhand embarrassment throughout the episodes because almost a decade ago I tried to watch one and I remember well the moments when they struck those somewhat awkward poses in front of the audience. But I ended up being surprised because this time I didn't feel that way. I believe time helped because I've watched various genres, regardless of whether the story is good or bad, and even with some exaggerations this anime had, I still enjoyed watching it.

Honestly, this anime is just an incredibly fun, action-packed comedy! The animation is super clean, and the sound design is great. The soundtrack choices are soo good and really pull you in, making every scene super engaging. What I love the most is the writing. It manages to be really whimsical, but still knows exactly when to get serious. It definitely doesn't feel like the typical seinen you usually get, which is honestly a huge breath of fresh air! Tojima Tanzaburo Wants to Be a Masked Rider is just such a fun, unique show. It takes the old-school Kamen Rider concept and turns it into an anime with a really fun twist. Definitely give it a watch!

Not for everyone, but something you should at least try because you might really enjoy it. I’m wasn’t into Kamen Rider at all. This show changed that. I was hooked in the first episode after those first few punches vs the Shocker Robbers. It’s funny, it’s hype, and the story is all over the place that you cannot really predict what goes on. I love all the characters, and I really enjoy how this show encapsulates that Gurren Lagann esc hype that just keeps ramping up per episode. It’s just a ‘never give up’ type of show and I really enjoyed my time with it. The OST guys were also fucking cooking in the studio with themes PER CHARACTER. It made a lot of good moments even better when you hear the swap from one to another. It’s like a WWE match at its peak and a twist suddenly happens, and the tide turns unlike any other. So, so, so, so fun. Also Sena is cute, I liked her.

10/10 just coz this anime deserves 8/10 minimum, has a non-geberic character design, is a really fresh action anime full of comedy, if u wanna watch something more than a generic shonen isekai you will love this masterpiece with a pretty cool OST, music is amazing mixing the original music from the anime with a old style from original kamen raider series, art style is unique and has a very nice animation work, every episode will make you ask what the hell is going on, but u will still watching and idk maybe u will want to be the next Kamen Raider.
