Jigoku Sensei Nube is a total hidden gem, IMHO. I’m not usually an appreciator of the horror genre in anime, but this series won me over with its unique blend of humor, drama, and surprisingly tragic scenes. The Story & Characters The second part of the series was incredibly emotional. I really loved seeing the children grow up, especially through Kyoko’s story—even if the ending for her and Nube felt a bit bittersweet. Almost every episode had a real impact while still being fun. Of course, the Yuki-Onna scenes were my absolute favorite; her chemistry with Nube is top-tier! Visuals & Tone The art and design perfectly mix that classic 90s feel with a style that still holds up today. In the beginning, I thought nothing too serious would happen since the cast involves little children, but the show definitely proved me wrong. It manages to be dark and supernatural while keeping a heart of gold. The Verdict It was great to see how all the subplots eventually connected back to the Demon Hand origin. For anyone who enjoys a good supernatural plot, this is a solid choice. It’s a classic that more people should watch.

Season 2 of Jigoku Sensei Nube continues its "monster of the week" style while trying to bring in a few more episodes with lore and world building than the initial season. While I felt this second part to be a bit more repetitive, it still has the same charm as the first season and some even stronger episodes, so there's no reason not to watch it if you liked part 1. I enjoyed the fact that Ritsuko was able to get some more screen time and character development, but it's still far from what she needs to become a truly strong character. Tamamo completely disappeared and was only relevant in the very last episodes, which was sad to see. Other than that, Nube and the kids continue to be likeable characters that you love rooting for. Maybe this anime could've gone with something a bit less episodic and more of a cohesive story to connect everything together, but it's good as is. Hoping for a season 3 to bring this series to even grander heights.

(Spanish review on my list) Part two of the remake is basically the same as what I said in my review of part one: a nostalgic anime from many years ago. The art style is clearly from two decades ago, and the adventures are episodic, attempting to teach values and/or show a bit about different Japanese monsters. But that's about it. Don't expect much or anything that makes it stand out from the many other exorcism anime in the anime catalog. It's not bad, not at all, but perhaps the generation gap affects you. The type of comedy, some of the ways they resolve things, the art style is clearly from two decades ago, and the characters have fixed personalities but aren't very deep. Back then, viewers weren't so demanding about trauma or character development, and this anime retains that: just episodic adventures with a teacher who looks after his students. Now that I think about it, it was a common genre a few years ago.
