This is one very nice fantasy anime. I still remember that famous end of the 1st episode that make everyone thinks that it may go in certain direction which hopefully didn't happen. xD It was an enjoyable watch from start to end and I really like how they presented some things differently from their fantasy standard ones. Animation and music: Animation is solid, it gets the job done. Music is also fulfilling it's job. There are no noticeable tracks but what's there helps you get engrossed into the show. Overall - animation and music are industry standard ones, not bad and not terrible. Characters: Rirui and Hajime really steal the show. Hajime is 29 years old loner adventurer who acts like a tough man and sexual harasses but deep down is very caring person and wants to help others as much as he can. Rirui is cute little troublemaker who gets "adopted" by Hajime and is slowly learning to be an adventurer. The dynamic between the two is great, there are serious scenes, fun scenes and sad scenes. Bond between them is believable and every scene the two banter between eachother is a jot to watch. Adding to this are various supporting characters, sadly none of them get any major development but each of them contributes in their own way to further strengthen their relation. Out of everyone I would note Anyango who is Rirui's dwarf friend, Olive who is your local elf guildmistress, Natalie who is your local caring cleaning women working in her father's inn, Cocko who is Rirui's second friend and highly intellectual person and Veronica who is Hajime's succubus friend. All of them together create a nice group of lovable characters and their interactions and gags is what makes this show good. Overall - Hajime and Rirui are likable characters with a lot of good chemistry and the all supporting ones are only making the entire experience that much better. Story: the story follows Hajime as he one day stumbles across Rirui and decides to kind-of adopt her, kind-off becasue he makes her his adventuring partner rather than daughter. And from there the story revolves around Rirui helping Hajime in his everyday life and slowly growing as a character. That's everything regarding the story as this anime mostly revolves around interaction and growth between main characters and everyone else rather than some epic journey. But the good news is that here is still a lot left to the story, the backgrounds of various characters as well as origins of Rirui. All of which can be explored in the future. Overall - story is rather basic and revolves around interactions between main characters and the rest and their daily adventures. Overall grade: 10 for me, realistically anime is somewhere between 7 and 8. It is a good slice of life, adventure fantasy show. Although some people may get turned off by the show because of the revelation at the end of 1st episode, but it turns out that was just a revelation more for a shock factor than anything else. While Rirui might have some other plans for the future, for now Hajime sees her nothing more as a kid who needs protection and guidance in life. I would recommend this show to everyone who might enjoy some fantasy slice of life with a bit of comedy, adventure and action. I don't know if this show will ever see season 2, but I will watch it for sure if they ever release it.

You know you're not that into it when you're saving the episode to binge them but not because it's awesome but more because you're trusting in a story that will be satisfying. I feel too bored to call it a recommend, but I do have some positive to say about this series. I'm a sucker for the story a born-from-nothing that gets by and is pretty strong. Here by Hero standard he's not OP in anyway and is a strong guy with a penchant of a degen with a good heart. Likes booze and ladies but doesn't fall in the loli trap. The side MC is Ruirui a cute succubus with a tomboyish attitude and a need to be an adventurers. The base of the premise is our 29 yo dude takes under his care a succubus child because he too was once a lonely orphan in the slums. So this is very slice-of-life rather than a shounen which is what I thought it was going to be. The first 6-8 episodes are showing signs of Ruirui getting better but at a pretty slow pace. Until there's some level up and we see he get better. But she's pretty dumb, like most kid that looks barely 10yo. Her enthusiasm makes up for her stupidity. For me, the pace is basically boring, repetitive and Ruirui's annoying voice gets on my nerves. Her development feels too much like a show about a guardian taking care of a kid, rather than 2 adventurers getting better, getting stronger, as shounen normally goes. there's - 2 solid episodes which if there was just 2 more of them I'd be feeling positive about this series. The best episode is where the MC just shines as an adventurer and shows his truth strength. It's very satisfying to see a scene with some hardcore action with fights when the whole time we're still fighting slimes and horned rabbit with the occasional hog. Truly if this was more shounen and less a slice of life I would recommend wholeheartedly.

Story To be honest, I went into this with zero expectations, so I was actually surprised that I wasn't completely bored by episode 4. It definitely has its moments and more story than I anticipated, but the problem is that those good moments get cut off way too fast. We barely get a proper look at the village, and the overall pacing feels exactly like playing an RPG where you just mash "Accept" to skip all the dialogue. You end up moving from quest to quest without really understanding the deeper plot or what is actually going on. Visuals Visually, it sits right at the average mark for a fantasy anime. There aren't any crazy, highly detailed monsters, and you won't find any flashy, high-tier magic effects here. Because the story focuses so much on low-tier monsters and basic adventuring, there really isn't anything visually impressive to praise. It gets the job done, but it’s nothing special. Conclusion Is it worth watching? If you just want a low-stakes anime to chill with in the background, it’s a decent watch. But if you're looking for an engaging story with actual depth and world-building, you should definitely look somewhere else.

"29-sai Dokushin Chuuken Boukensha no Nichijou" (2026) goes into my log as yet another run-of-the-mill isekai with slice of life elements. The little action it has (and the limited world exploration) feels weak and uninspired. Most of its characters also remain underdeveloped throughout the twelve episodes. Thematically, it reminds me of "Uchi no Ko no Tame Naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maō mo Taoseru Kamoshirenai" (2019), but with a more dramatic tone and considerably more comedy. In this case, the co-protagonist Rirui, far from being a typical moe girl archetype, comes across more as a hyperactive and somewhat mischievous brat. On the other hand, I did find it interesting how in several episodes it is suggested that Hajime Shinonome accepts his role as a responsible father figure as a way of healing from his own childhood wounds. It is a simple, but nice message.

Honestly, not a bad anime. I enjoyed the MC, his backstory, even the final episode in which you see how his life is his way of honoring his best friends that passed away, the show and story had every chance of being deep enough and entertaining to watch, And then of course like most mass produced anime slop, we have chomo lovers just inserting their own fantasies into the story. Didn't see that coming. Do not get me wrong, the idea of a story in which a 30 y/o adventurer that's just this perpetual bachelor hardass suddenly adopts a child and has to learn how to be a single dad is insanely entertaining. What is not entertaining, and perhaps even boorish and revolting is having the kid be attracted to the father figure (and sure throw in the mix that she's a succubus that gets inside his dreams and grows up with a big chest during the night, why wouldn't you right?) A good chunk of the episodes and interactions between the MC or characters that are female get to be outright ruined by the element of the little kid being attracted to his new father figure, there's nothing interesting to Rurui as a character unfortunately because she could've a nice story of her own and they had the chance of write a compelling father-daughter dynamic, but since we live in the real world, we just get chomo apologists writing animes nowadays. Overall, I don't recomment nor discourage it, it's good to casually watch but nothing to write home, I sat through it during google meets and other pockets of "dead" time so it's a good time waster with some cool moments.

This was a very cozy and cute watch. From some other reviews people seem to have mislead themselves by not properly reading the synopsis or taking a hint at the promotional material, but this is a slice of life father-daughter anime. Rirui is cute and feels very much like a child and not a stereotypical loli, and Hajime is a stand up guy who likes breasts. As far as fantasy anime go this is not really anything special, but I am basing my rating on what this feels like it really was meant to be, which is a fun and comfortable watch.

This show is a unpolished gem really. Mostly due to the isekai level animation. Because everything else is actually good. TLDR : The show's story is far better then this score gives it credit for. But it's not 100% perfect. Now for the details: Lets first get the obvious out of the way. Horrendous animation. I sound like a broken clock at how many of these decent/good shows story-wise have a really terrible animation but i can't help it if it's true. Now... The worldbuilding in this world is twofold. On the one side most dungeons have the same mobs, we don't see much variety across these 12 episodes. On the other hand, it perfectly encapsulates that daily life atmosphere. A small cozy show is the feeling. And that's where the village adventurer comes in. Hajime. As an MC.... This dude's a really good one. He's not a bad person either but im praising how he was built as a character. On that same note i will praise the story as well. With a simple and effective backstory all his shortcomings as a member of society make every sense in the world. Dude lived a horrible life in the slums. He barely had any human interaction outside his slum buddies.Even more so any interaction with women and all that. We are shown that even among other denizens of the gutters he was especially driven by pure survival instincts. Eat sleep and do whatever it takes to accomplish the previous two. Lived more like a wild animal then any human being. So his social ineptitude, lack of actual trust in anybody, and lack of tact all make perfect sense. Same goes for Veronica and her seemingly(outside of context and the world)outlandish request about Ruri and her... "initiation". She basically lived the same life as Hajime to some extent,so she most probably had to do the same thing she's offering Ruri. In her mind after a lifetime of pure survival driven by base instincts what she says in her mind seems perfectly rational. If it worked for her survival, why wouldn't it work for Ruri. Need i remind that before Hajime decided to play babysiter that Ruri was also an abandoned orphan? This simple yet effective backstory ties so many actions and mindsets together it's crazy good. And with that long explanation over, i gotta say, none of these characters are really NPCs. At least the ones that get any story that is. The reduced cast also helps the setting as well. And if you remove all the adventuring and light-hearted comedy, and focus on people like hajime and veronica, there's still a story to tell. Although a very different and somber story about what people at some point went through and had to do to survive. And still do to this day in some god forsaken places. All in all, it's a very lighthearted story that still handles some dark themes here and there. But if you think too hard about the details... Well... Not much to laugh about. But still good storytelling. I recommend this.

Another wholesome anime on my list, i didnt expect this type of isekai where there is a succubus that doesn't do ecchi on the story line and wants to get stronger for the Mc ( hajime ) , the story line is a bit unique to me because from the slums to the village adventure isnt an easy task to begin with especially climbing up to silver rank of the guild is a bit tough to some isekai i already watch, plus the mc ( hajime ) is a chill dude didnt riruin be alone again or be starving even tho later on they will find out she is one of the succubus really interesting anime hope this anime get a season 2

In short, if you enjoy a light anime with an “adventure and dungeons” format, and you do not mind one of the protagonists being a female child who turns into a teenager at night while also being a succubus, then this anime might be for you. Intro: This anime surprised me in a positive way. After reading the reviews on MAL, I honestly thought I was going to hate it, mostly because I am not usually into this kind of theme. But sincerely, it was better than expected. There is no child sexualization, for example, and the fact that the main character is a succubus child who becomes a teenager at night, when all is said and done, does not really change that much. Art: 6/10 Average. You can tell the studio wanted the characters, in general, to look cute and appealing, but honestly, there is nothing particularly impressive here. It does the job, but that is about it. Story: 7/10 This is where the anime earns some points. The story is nice. It is pleasant to watch, and it is the kind of anime you can put on without paying too much attention and still have a good time. There is not much progress in the story. Actually, maybe there is no real progress at all. It starts and ends almost in the same place. But honestly, I had fun with it. Sound: 5/10 The voice acting is well done, but some of the voices annoyed me a bit. The main character ends up being a little irritating because of her voice, and the rest of the cast felt kind of whatever to me. Not bad, not good, just there. That is why I am giving it this score. Characters: 6/10 The characters introduced in this anime are, honestly, very average. There is no deep backstory, no extremely memorable traits, and very little progression. Character development is almost nonexistent. It follows the old formula, does nothing new, but because of that, it also does not really mess anything up. Enjoyment: 6/10 It was pretty fun to watch, but I watched it at 3x speed because, honestly, the pacing is slow for an adventure story. Some things happen during the anime that do not really have a reason to be there other than simply existing. Overall: 6/10 In the end, if you do not have anything more useful to watch and want to give this anime a chance, while overlooking the fact that the protagonist is a child succubus, you will probably have some fun with it. Just do not expect anything too special, because this anime really feels like it was made to not be anything special. Watch it if you want to see a somewhat original story, but nothing out of this world.

A guy that grew up in the slums as an orphan finally reached the point where he became strong and started being an adventurer in a village, and while working, he meets a young orphan girl that reminds him of his past... but she's a succubus?! First of all, I want to start by saying that in the story of the anime, the plot does not go "there", even if the early episodes it lowkey kinda shows it might in a few scenes. This in my opinion is one of the only big minuses of this anime, that they made the FMC be a kid that is a succubus that has an adult body at night... but fortunately, even though it has a few sketchy moments sometimes, once you understand the MC, you can kinda understand those moments and know they are not as weird as they might feel... still could have done without them imho... But at least the MC genuinely sees the FMC as a kid, his newly adopted daughter, but because of his upbringing and the things he had to do to survive, he has at times quite a skewed view of the world, but he is trying his best. Personally I really enjoyed this more non conventional MC, as he felt more... realistic to me, like he is actually the result of the context he grew up in. He is quite stoic in his way of thinking, with not many things actually bothering him, some which would actually be a huge deal to everyone, where even the other characters started to worry about him not being bothered. He's a really strong character, and I don't mean just power, but mentally, even though his thinking pattern can be seen as pretty simple most of the time. But because of this context of growing up being an orphan in the slums, always being hungry and having to fight for food, he did become quite weird socially at times, so yea... you will be surprised when you hear about some of the things he did when growing up and his reaction to them... The FMC is the little kid that is always trying to be happy and optimistic, most of the time being carefree, even though she might seem annoying at times. Her trying her best and not always succeeding and getting help from the MC that looks after her makes for quite the nice combo to follow. She really shows that her thought patterns and behaviors are that of a kid from that world at times, which is pretty refreshing to see. This story really makes you feel like the characters of the story fit very well in the world and their places. The story does mix the more chill, cartoonish, happy moments with more realistic ones quite nicely. Some of the other characters are also pretty unconventional, which adds quite a ton to this story. Even though at times it feels like a slice of life, it does have quite a few moments where things really went down and real consequences happened, which surprised me as not many stories actually do stuff like this. While following the pair living in the village and getting closer to the villagers, you also start learning more about the world, and it actually has quite a few interesting ideas, and the method of showing the world is pretty nice, as they actually like to do stuff and show you, and not to always explain them fully, but let you guess and wonder a bit what more is there to it. It is done in such a way that you don't feel like you're losing important details that you must have known, but instead you're left with the feeling like there is much more to that world, and you can't wait to find out more, alas to do that you might need to read the manga. Albeit, at times things did feel a bit too... straightforward and simple, or cartoonish, so ig some things shouldn't be thought that much about as it is just a way of telling the story Story: 8 -- A pretty nice story and world, presented in a nice way as well, but I still can't say I like the FMC's being a kid succubus with an adult body at night very much... Art: 8 -- Good art overall, but some of the fights were too simple or just slide shows Music: 8 -- Nice music Characters: 8 -- I enjoyed quite a few characters in this story, and their relations and interactions bring the story a few different flavors, from chill, happy kid moments, to dark comedy between adults etc Enjoyment: 8 -- Overall it was a very nice watch, but there were a few weird scenes that didn't sit right with me, even though I tried to understand the context of them Overall: 8 Right now it has 6.58 from 21.784 votes Ranked #7525 Popularity #3627 Members 51,589 as of 15/10/2026 I recommend this anime to those that want to see a story about an adventurer and an orphan kid trying to live their best life in a village, with an interesting and a mix of realistic and cartoonish feel to the world and story, that feels overall like a slice of life with progression, but also has moments where things go down and important stuff happens. And you're okay with (or can ignore) a few scenes that might make you feel weird (not that many), some which can be understood maybe given the context of everything

I started watching anime just because of the plot seemed intriguing, besides the cute little girl. The animation also seemed nice, but I wasn't expecting much from this anime. In a way, the anime really captivated me, I liked the animation and the plot is good , it's fun to watch. We have a friendship between a girl and a 29-year-old "young man," it's cute, although it's strange that the girl has feelings for the guy. But as the episodes progress, we see a hilarious comedy of the girl who is very weak as an adventurer, and who despite this dreams of becoming a strong adventurer. Hajime's relationship with the other characters are cool too, in short it's a really fun and "cute" series to watch, I give it a 7. I give it a 7.

Quite a normal start but it got sweet, way too sweet, emotional and even sweeter. The concept of special beings is dis-likable and it gets questionable half-way but it never gets into the risky stuff. Mob concept is quite original but very limiited. It doesn't go very in depth with fantasy elements. It could go without the mentioning of level progression for the kid or the level up glow. Apart from everything else it's just the usual slice-of-life adventurer doing quests while taking care of a child. I know it's a wish between all of us to have a sense of parenting but it's mostly what I see between half of these stories.
