Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5
Ionliosite2
The genius mangaka Reiji Miyajima once again blessed us with the 5th season of his magnus opum, Kanojo Okarishimasu, very clearly the most awaited anime of the year. Given that in the current paradigm of romcoms this one is clearly one of the best, if not downright the best, it means that this season has some of the most awaited scenes, and we have to thank the studio for delivering them in all of their glory. So, I will refer to the elephant in the room, in the previous season’s last episode, Kazuya was going to confess to Chizuru to make their relationship real, however, Chizuru apologizes to him and runs away before he could confess, so he interpreted that as being rejected, leading to probably the most popular scene of the manga, the scene where he imagines Chizuru having sex with another man. When the manga chapter first came out, the chapter was completely ridiculed absolutely everywhere, tons of memes came out from it because it looked ridiculous, and it’s not like I didn’t have tons of fun seeing those memes too, however, this scene seems to be completely misinterpreted in many ways, especially because it’s taken as if it was bad writing, and that makes no sense whatsoever. If you go back to the very first episode of the very first season, you will find Kazuya imagining Mami with another guy after being dumped by her, this makes this scene completely in character, as it is also something that already happened before, Kazuya’s self-esteem is so under the ground it goes down to the center of the Earth, everyone in his life is always putting him down for everything he does, and it isn’t that abnormal that when he gets rejected he thinks “maybe she deserve a better man than me”, it’s not like that thing doesn’t happen in real life. You see, I remember that back when I was 15, I was invited to one of the girl’s 15 years old party, as was everyone else in the classroom because everyone was invited to every party that my classmates were doing around. I had this friend, he liked this girl, she was cute, clearly out of his league and to top it all she had a boyfriend already, but that doesn’t matter. In that party, she and another one of our classmates were dancing booty shaky reggaeton Bad Bunny shit, and he, for a reason no one could understand, started crying and left the room, and as someone who knew these two guys ever since I was like 6, it was pretty confusing, as I knew they didn’t have anything going on and doing that kind of dances in any party is extremely common where I live. I could just wonder why would he even start doing that, taking into account that they weren’t even close to be in a relationship, but I think that my problem was trying to see it too logically back then. And that leads me to go back to the theme at hand, in that scene Kazuya thinks he got rejected and starts imagining Chizuru having sex with another man, this made a perfect click to me, as I saw something extremely similar happening right in front of my fucking eyes. This scene is not at all an example of bad writing, it’s realistic and completely in character. The main complaints against it to say it’s bad writing is that it is absolutely pathetic and that Kazuya is a cuck. The first one is not even a valid complaint, because it is true he’s pathetic, but that doesn’t make a scene bad, it’s barely any different from complaining about not liking the color of their shirts, it doesn’t have any substance as a criticism. The other is simply not true, a lot of people use the shitposting definition of “cuck”, which is just a character being cheated on, but that is not even what’s happening in the scene, everything is happening on his mind, so it’s not even real, and Kazuya and Chizuru aren’t dating, so it cannot possibly be cheating either even if it was real. There’s no character in Kanojo Okarishimasu that could be possibly qualified as a cuck, the closest would be Ruka, but she isn’t one either. Everything about this scene gets highly exaggerated, but in reality, it’s completely consistent with everything that has happened across the series. This isn’t even the only scene that caused a ruckus back when it came out in the manga, but it is the most prominent and the one that causes the most visceral reactions, and while I can understand laughing at Kazuya for it, that doesn’t mean that it isn’t justified to exist or that it is badly written. With that out of the way, I’ll add that this season is essentially the end of all the most relevant plot points that have been hanging around in the series, because almost all the characters are interacting in the same place, so they try their best to not communicate or try to not say anything weird that other characters do not know. If there’s any problem with the series, it’s that every time a lie gets revealed to others, they have to try their hardest to come up with an even bigger lie to make the previous lie not look fake, which can be believable, but it’s something that happens so much, it makes you wonder why didn’t Kazuya and Chizuru discuss what to say in case their secret gets revealed, their entire relationship is built on so many layers of lies that it gets to a ridiculous point, that’s what the series has always being doing and why their relationship looks so dysfunctional, it’s part of the point of the series to see the way they maintain their fake relationship while breaking as many ToS as possible. This season decides that it finally is time to tackle Chizuru and Kazuya’s relationship in front of their family and friends, the problem with the series is that this isn’t even close to the end of the story, the manga keeps going for like 200 more chapters after this when this arc clearly works as a climax that ties everything nicely, the only thing you are left to resolve at this point is Kazuya and Chizuru actually getting together. One of the most important parts to me is that I find the jokes in the series to be very funny, it doesn’t matter if it’s a girl telling something to Kazuya and him sperging out in his mind about it, it was funny to me even back when I saw the first trailer for the series, I can’t go a single episode without enjoying the things they are doing, I love to see these characters acting like stupid people and having to tango around their relationships. I love the fanservice and how sexy and cute the girls are, I love the outfits Reiji puts them in. Kazuya is fun, a rare example of a romcom protagonist who actually acts like a real person instead of a generic nice guy, and he is definitely an example of what you shouldn’t do or be in real life, and I wouldn’t have him in any other way. Notes: - “Cuck” comes from the world cuckold, which is used for a man whose wife is unfaithful towards him. That doesn’t happen in this series ever, so no, Kazuya isn’t a cuck, and on that note no one else is. This series isn’t NTR. - After 5 seasons they decided to give us uncensored nipples in the anime, thanks. Thank you for reading.

If you're reading this you probably know what happened until now. So why are we still here? Being a completionist or really into stuff like this? Let me tell you something: There's nothing worse than a story that keeps repeating itself and actively missing points or even dragging stuff into oblivion to make you stay. Inner monologues of the MC are just nonsense to a point where you know this is not about character development or any change whatsoever. It keeps episodes from telling you anything new to the story and you're tuning in every week to get 2 whole minutes of new stuff and 20 minutes of intro, outro, reminder of what happened last episode, pictures from the past and inner monologues while seeing static images over and over again. 2 or 3 seasons would've been enough to tell this story. Some other RomCom try to give you a storyline for the couple after they confessed. That might be what Rent A Girlfriend actually needed but instead it's about milking a dead cow and running this whole thing into the ground. I don't know anything about manga or if there's even source material for this show but who the heck thought it's a good idea to create plot twists without a plot? Very personal opinion from someone who liked this anime: If there's a season 6 and episode 1 is just another recap of the past then it's thrown around and forgotten about like Kazuyas used tissues.

On the stinky poo scale, this show gets a very stinky diarrhea Honestly going in circles. 5 seasons in and it feels like all of the progression form the first season is gone, and that we are getting nowhere. The intensity of the first few episodes was cool and all, and then shot down my filler garbage such as, "Bra and Girlfriend", like are we dead ass? It felt like I was watching the same episode over and over with the same premise, "Kazuya can't talk to a girl or see her wearing clothes without getting a boner" Like please stop bro. Kazuya is so insufferable. How do you get rejected by the girl you like and imagine her getting FUCKED by other dudes to where you start drowning in a pool with a boner. Like he could have just been sad and called it a day, nah man let me get a hard on while i picture my imaginary girlfriend gets stoned by BBC. I honestly hate this guy. No clue how these girls actually like him. I hope in the future he gets stabbed to death or something. Chizuru is such a lead on lying hoe. Mami is a grown woman worried about other people's happiness Ruka might as well be useless, like how is she going to watch her man get kissed Infront of his family and then just be fine with it. I think she likes Kazuya so much because she's just as much of a cuck as he is. Sumi gets no screen time, but when she does, she doesn't do anything other than to help Kazuya, which is sad And Yaemori is only a plot device used for when Kazuya can't speak his own thoughts and needs her to do so. This show sucks, this season was terrible, why am I wasting my time? All season 6 is gonna be is Kazyua and Chizuru living together for a month where they probably won't progress any further. The only way to fix this show is to kill Kazuya or Chizuru. Fuck the kiss fuck the confession is all bullshit.

Let me start off by saying the hate this anime gets is totally justified. The will they won’t they seems to be extremely drawn out and the pacing can be enough to make you rip your hair out. The last season drew out the entire arc at the resort, and it that wasn’t bad enough it took up almost half of season 5 as well. Infuriating! But we have to look at why people keep watching a show that the majority agrees is bad. For one thing the animation is gorgeous. And I’m not talking just good enough to stand out over other shows, it’s the real deal beautiful. And something that is impressive is that it’s been this way. Consistently. For 5 seasons!!! That in itself is something to be congratulated. Next up is that the heroines are charming. And again it’s not just one or two, it’s all of them which is really hard to do. Most shows can’t even come up with one heroine that captures your heart but RAG manages to flesh out 5 different characters with different personalities and you love them in 5 completely unique ways. Next up is the dynamic between Kazuya and Mizuhara. The author is either a complete fool or an absolute genius for drawing out their characters romance for as long as he does. He gets us invested into this relationship that has S tier repoir with a protagonist who is the perfect combination of self insert and his own person while the main heroine is a perfect tsundere while also being a perfectly unique character with real motivations and her own life. I think we are all mad that it’s taking them so long to have any kind of progress but that’s also what’s making us so invested into the story. It’s like in cooking how deeper richer flavors take time to develop, so too in the case of their romance. And all of this is finally starting to bear fruit in this newest season. Again I hate the pacing just as much as everyone else, but in the latter half of this season as their relationship starts to develop we can finally see the fruits of the authors labor. The fruit would not taste as sweet if we did not sit expectantly upon this journey that started in the first season so let’s enjoy it and root for a season 6!

Finally for once there is plot development after the whole of season four being spent at the resort I wasn’t looking forward to season five however 3 episodes in that all changed when a huge plot point happens and they eventually move on from that arc and moved to a completely new one which caught me by surprise. Second half the season very very enjoyable just like reminding of the earliest seasons. Still enjoying it and it looks like we are finally getting somewhere with the characters and how are they going to see things to look forward to as of finishing this season there is a new season been announced so hopefully it continues where it left off and keep building on what they’ve got and it’s more like the second half of the show than the first Overall 9/10 it has lost its magic that made it 10 in the season one and the ones but it’s still very much enjoyable

Another season has passed, and unlike the previous one, which felt clunky, cringeworthy, and genuinely dull, this season is at least more eventful by this franchise’s standards. Even so, it still ends in the exact same place: more breadcrumbs, more hesitation, and more of the same “will they, won’t they” dynamic that is clearly being stretched out for yet another season. At this point, I have to be honest: the series has gone on long enough that I no longer really care who Kazuya ends up with, whether that is Chizuru, Ruka, or no one at all. The story has dragged this central romance out to the point that it has lost much of its emotional impact. It desperately needs a new hook beyond just the main love story, because right now the two leads still do not seem to fully understand their own feelings, let alone what they actually want from each other. Kazuya remains the same low-self-esteem simp he was in season one. Whatever growth he has shown feels minimal at best. You could argue that this is realistic, since people do not change overnight, but even so, in his current state he still does not seem close to deserving the love and attention he receives from his crush. What makes it more frustrating is that this season seems to reward him anyway. Or rather, the people around him start rewarding this same weak, indecisive behavior, to the point that it almost feels like the story is pressuring Chizuru into liking him. In fact, this may be the worst version of Kazuya I have seen in the past five seasons. It almost feels as if his character development is moving backward. Even his supposed depression arc is handled only superficially, which gives the impression that the author knows the audience does not really want to engage too seriously with that side of the character because it might hit too close to home. As for Chizuru, her constant indecision does her no favors either, and I can understand why a lot of viewers have started turning on her and placing all the blame on her side. Personally, though, I think that is unfair. If Kazuya were able to show more maturity, confidence, or capability, I imagine Chizuru would be much more willing to genuinely consider him. Instead, it often feels like the story is trying to push her toward giving this pathetic man a chance whether it feels earned or not. Plot-wise, the first half mostly serves to wrap up material left hanging from season four. As much as the community hyped up certain moments, my reaction was mostly just, “That’s it?” The story barely moves forward. Most of the cast are so passive and so unwilling to challenge the status quo that they cling to whatever lies are available just to keep the situation intact. That makes the entire narrative feel awkward and artificial. Honestly, without characters like Mami and Yaemori pushing things along, the two leads would seem completely incapable of managing either themselves or their relationship. The animation is also questionable at times. It almost feels as though the production knows it has a lineup of top-tier voice actors and is relying on them to carry the entire show. Some scenes barely move at all and consist of little more than characters talking to each other. There is also a noticeable amount of reused animation from previous seasons, which really captures the spirit of the series at this point: do the bare minimum, because the fans will consume it anyway. I especially feel bad for people watching this weekly, because some episodes genuinely feel like a PowerPoint presentation. I binged the season and still found it irritating, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to wait an entire week for that level of output. The storyline itself often feels mechanical. You can clearly see the outcome the author wants to set up, and the way he arranges the scenes to get there feels robotic, as if it lacks any real understanding of how people actually behave. Side characters are also pushed aside and only brought back when the plot suddenly needs them. What happens to Ruka this season, for example, feels deeply toxic to me, but because the author does not seem interested in really addressing that, she is left to endure it alone and continue acting cheerfully for Kazuya. Overall, I still have a lot of thoughts about this show, but the actual experience of watching it now mostly comes down to sunk cost. It is not completely unbearable, but it is mildly annoying, consistently disappointing, and by this point my expectations are so low that I barely expect anything better anymore.

I don't understand why this anime gets so much hate. I'm not well-versed in the manga and how the anime differentiates from it, but I hear that most people dislike this show because of Kazuya. Honestly, Kazuya isn't even the most insufferable harem anime protagonist, and this show is arguably not even a proper harem. He only has eyes for one girl, rather than being interested in the other girls. This is pretty clear from the get-go. Mami, Mini, Ruka, and Sumi sort of act more like supporting characters, or, in Mami's case, an antagonist. Kazuya also tries his best to be a good person. Sure, his actions and thoughts are questionable at times, but I don't think that deviates too much from a normal guy in his 20s who has fallen for a woman. He's by no means a saint, but I never really saw anything he did to be despicable. Plus, he really cares for Chizuru, and he shows that as best as he can in his own way. For example, he supports Chizuru and her dreams at any cost, quite literally. Even with that considered, the female characters in this show are pretty good. I personally love Chizuru, Mini, and Sumi, and can find reasons to like the remaining two girls, but they don't resonate with me personally. Even if you don't like Kazuya, I feel like it's completely worth the effort to watch this just for the female characters. Throughout the past five seasons, I've grown to become a Chizuru bias, and a girl I admire and see myself in (besides the fact that she can be more open with her thoughts and feelings sometimes). Chizuru herself isn't perfect, but she also tries her best. The art/animation of this show is beautiful, too. It's another reason why I keep coming back. The style is just so sweet and easy on the eyes. This show is probably the only "harem" anime I've stuck with for this long besides "Date a Live," and I just can't find a reason to give up on it just yet. I know it's already been five seasons, but I really love the slow-burn romance, and I don't find it to be drawn out. It makes sense that it's taking this long to get with a woman as busy and career-focused as Chizuru. I'm looking forward to seeing the further development of these characters and the seasons yet to come.

Why tf is this still getting a Season 5? The story barely moves again, and the situations feel more and more forced. At this point, watching Kazuya still refuse to man up and make a move is probably the most vexing part of the whole show. And yet... why am I still watching this? I honestly don't know. I keep holding onto this tiny hope that Kazuya will eventually become a better character, but the manga spoilers aren't exactly giving me much confidence. 💀 Story Same cycle, different season. The plot technically moves, but it feels like we're taking the longest possible route to get anywhere. Most of the situations feel unnecessarily dragged out just to keep the same dynamics going. Characters The characters are still stuck in their usual patterns. Kazuya's development—or lack of it—is probably my biggest problem. After five seasons, you'd expect some meaningful change, but we're still pretty much here. Animation Decent and does the job, but there's nothing here that makes me want to praise the animation. It's not really the reason anyone is watching this anyway. Recommendation I don't recommend it. What's more frustrating is seeing this get another season while anime with much better stories struggle to continue. But somehow... I'll probably still be there if Season 6 happens. 🤡

Rent-a-Girlfriend continues to be the single most infuriating show I've had the misfortune of watching, and this season is probably the most egregious example. ------------------------------------Plot----------------------------------------------------------- The story treats the two main characters like they're virtuous for lying to their families and that somehow the girl trying to expose them is wrong. In fact, they even frame a scene where Chizuru says it's OK to lie because Nagomi is happy as righteous for some odd reason, while anyone who isn't a complete neanderthal could tell you is completely wrong. The series must take its audience for a bunch of low IQ mouthbreathers without any critical thinking skills whatsoever with how it likes to pretend like it's deep and with how stupid the MCs act. Kazuya's plan to confess to Chizuru to avoid all accountability for his actions is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and even after he gets rejected and exposed, he continues to lie to his family with the excuse of making Chizuru avoid taking any flak for her actions instead of owning up to it and apologizing. Even after saying he would tell his family they broke up afterwards, he never once does because he gets depressed he got ghosted for 3 whole months after such a stressful situation, only to cheer up because he got a single crumb of attention from Chizuru who was persuaded into talking to him again in one day by Mini - a character I can only describe as a walking plot device. Somehow he and Chizuru receive absolutely ZERO consequences for their heinous actions that have been built up the ENTIRE SERIES, and it's treated as justice. Chizuru "apologizes" for her actions to Ruka and Mami and somehow manages to avoid being punished all because she told Mami "b-b-b-but you probably like Kazuya" and then continues to do the same BS the entire time. Even after ghosting Kazuya for 3 months to make it up to Ruka, she then decides to see him again behind Ruka's back and text him, including beginning to live with him while claiming she feels bad for Ruka. She claims to want to avoid hurting her, but her answer is literally to SEE HIM WITHOUT RUKA'S KNOWLEDGE AND GET CLOSER WITH HIM. The series acts like her texting him all day despite being a rental girlfriend and despite ghosting him for 3 months straight prior is some triumphant moment, when it's anything but. The side plotline of Kuri wanting to see Ruka was completely and utterly unnecessary and if that leads anywhere, I will genuinely be ending it all. I was physically cringing every time he was on screen and talking to her. ----------------------------------Characters--------------------------------------------------- Kazuya continues to prove himself as the most irredeemable POS in fiction and I am shocked and saddened by the fact there are real people who relate to someone so trashy. I have never been angrier at a fictional character before Kazuya. Not only is his plan to confess to Chizuru (a rental girlfriend) after dragging her into this situation in the first place completely asinine, but even after he gets rejected he ignores the ONE girl who likes him, admits he was wrong in ignoring her feelings, and then proceeds to get aroused by having a cuck fantasy surrounding Chizuru in a PUBLIC pool (which fans of this show will laud as realistic, mind you). Once found out, he continues to lie to his family to cover for Chizuru, not because they misunderstood her actions or anything but because he doesn't want her to take criticism for her actions. This is somehow portrayed as the "moral" thing to do. Afterwards, he plans to tell his family they "broke up" (for like the 5th time), and then doesn't go through with it because he got ghosted by Chizuru. Oh, and by the way because he has absolute 0 self respect, he forgives her immediately. But somehow, this isn't the most heinous of his actions. His treatment of Ruka after crying SO MUCH about how how he wishes he had a girlfriend should be worthy of execution by brazen bull. Not only does he acknowledge that he was wrong in ignoring her feelings, but immediately after he CONTINUES to ignore her, doesn't thank her even ONCE for defending him while crying literal tears for him, or thank her for being the ONLY one to take care of him for three whole months while nobody bothered to check in on him. He will praise Chizuru for the smallest actions, but for Ruka he'll just respond by either half-heartedly praising her or with indifference. If Chizuru were to be the only one to take care of him for the 3 months he was depressed he'd have praised her in every way possible, but with Ruka he just makes a stupid ass face which I can only describe as being creeped out and then moves on. These double standards are constant throughout the entire series. He then hides the fact that he's texting and seeing Chizuru from Ruka and gives her false hope that she can date him. The amount of arrogance/ego he has to reject Ruka and chase after a rental girlfriend (for no real specified reason) he has no chance to date is one thing, but treating Ruka like dirt and making her feel suffering all the time despite having less value than fly shit himself is probably one of the most annoying things a character has ever done. The worst part? He never gets his comeuppance and is treated like he's "kind" by the series. Chizuru has become so lobotomized and flanderized since season one it feels like she's a different person. She literally let herself go on a trip with Kazuya's family, charged him for it, and also doesn't want to stop lying to his family and tell them they broke up until Kazuya himself does (which he never actually does, by the way). In fact, she treats lying to Kazuya's family like it's the morally good thing to do since they're happy. She treats the rental TOS like a list to check off, and somehow can bring herself to go on rental dates with customers despite living with, kissing, texting, and even considering to date Kazuya. She even continues to lie to Kazuya's family and doesn't urge him to say they broke up even after they were exposed. Out of "guilt" to Ruka, she ghosts Kazuya for 3 months without communicating the reason to anybody and then gets convinced by Mini to see him again after 3 minutes of talking, then starts texting him all day and even decides to live with him/decides to do a prolonged "investigation" of her feelings for him without telling Ruka any of this despite saying she had no interest in him prior. This is ALSO after she says she feels bad for Ruka and needs a plan to avoid hurting her. A character that can only preach empty platitudes and contradict all her words. The most infuriating part is how she is coddled by the narrative and presented as this holier-than-thou character despite doing the dumbest shit imaginable. Ruka is the character that goes through the most suffering in this show. Not only is she tortured by falling for an absolute chud like Kazuya, but she gets treated horribly by him the entire time they date because he fell for a rental girlfriend (where confessing is against the terms of service), doesn't get thanked once for being the only one to worry about him while he was depressed/defending him from his family, and the woman who said she had no interest in Kazuya starts seeing him behind her back while she fully believes he's moved on from her. She has tried so hard for YEARS to try and earn his love when he isn't even someone worth pursuing that much while suffering from self-worth issues all the while. She is the only girl who has been honest about her feelings from the beginning for Kazuya and would support him no matter how badly he treats her, but he emotionally tortures her the whole series while simultaneously going "hey, I'm treating this girl pretty badly" and never doing anything about it. She is legitimately just a high school girl with a heart condition who fell for Kazuya, yet somehow she gets hate for act…

If you complain about the pacing in One Piece or Dragon Ball, then you’ve clearly never watched Rent-A-Girlfriend. Paint dries faster than anything happens in this season. I shit you not, three episodes cover about a minute of real time, and it's mostly monologues and flashbacks. Chizuru is hilarious at the start because she just stands there and does absolutely nothing for multiple episodes. Then, when she finally kisses Kazuya and takes initiative, the anime throws in about 50 different camera angles and stills to drag it out. The season feels like one short manga chapter stretched across multiple episodes, and it's impressive how little happens. And somehow, after Chizuru ghosts him for three months, Kazuya is still completely obsessed with her and desperate to give her money. I sincerely hope no one on this planet is as hopelessly pathetic as he is in real life. Episode 10 onwards was a definite improvement, though. Kazuya helping Chizuru clear out her grandparents' old house and going through all the memories attached to it was genuinely touching, and the build-up to them living together for a month and trying to get closer was actually nice. Unfortunately, Chizuru's endless indecisiveness and Kazuya's complete lack of self-respect drag everything back down, and the season ends with him as a drunken, self-pitying mess. It's still better than the previous season, at least. We finally got the iconic pool-coat dream scene animated, which was hilarious, and the stuff involving Chizuru's grandparents gave the season real emotional weight. Yet those moments are buried under agonising pacing, repetitive inner monologues, and two characters determined to make as little progress as possible.

This one seriously dragged for too long there. Yes, it's speeding up to conclusion it seems, but it's better it is concluded sooner than later. As it is speedily degrading, or should I say... deranging. The emotional part is still here, but the rest seems to be becoming repetitive filler mess. Especially, what's with the 'production value' of this one season? It is mostly still images, it was never too much dynamic but compared to previous ones it's honestly bad. Main characters are still growing, but it's less and less pronounced and the MC indecisiveness easily hits the fault mark. For the major others, it's ridiculous. The 'villainess' just got it too hard and she's nothing more but a human scum at the moment. I honestly wonder how characters managed not to rough her face a little during the scene, it's all but too obvious. For the 'clingy kinda girlfriend', she's either totally oblivious or well, has some other mental disruption preventing her from stopping going after MC at that point where he clearly said it all in public. Another fun part is MC not being able to answer any questions or support any dialogue in two last episodes, we all know silence is golden and much philosophical, but here its sheer and shiny depth crosses some red tape again. None of this plays real, and regarding going to finally be concluded it would really be better if it doesn't get any worse than that and speeds up a lot.

This might be the most beta, effeminate loser shit I have ever watched in my life. This dumpster fire burns so bright that it is hard to remove my eyes from the disaster that is this show. I am not filled with feelings of relatability; if anything, this has given me more confidence knowing I'm not that much of a loser. I thank God every day that even though I don't get bitches, I'm still above this dishonest, vile filth. True to previous seasons, the best episodes are the last couple, but the 10-ish episodes leading up to it make me want to shave my skin off. I am ashamed to say I have seen this. Anyways, see you guys next season!!
Martijnrr
I know this show is bad. I've watched every episode since the first season, so I know there's basically no plot development. But in my opinion, the earlier seasons were at least stupid in an entertaining way. I never expected any real development—I just enjoyed it as one of those "turn your brain off and have fun" anime. This season, though, was just incredibly boring. Every week it felt like a chore to even watch five minutes of it. I'd end up turning it off after a few minutes just to do something else because it was that dull. Nothing even remotely funny happened, and it was the exact same plot point they've been repeating for five seasons. I know this isn't a good show, and I know it's never been about character or plot development, but honestly, this season just wasn't it for me.

It’s been 5 seasons..and theyre still in the same positions as the first season. It’s a good cringe, can’t look away from a crashing train frustrating but that’s the purpose of these type of anime isn’t it? Plot is as usual of the last seasons just going in circles and everyone being scared to face their own feelings, but that’s the point isn’t it? A struggle, a fight to see if the MC can finally get the girl with overcoming his own fear and obstacles. Makes it a good watch for cringe comedy. Animation is good as always. The girls are waifu material and well drawn with good character designs that makes them cute and attractive. The frustration is addicting to a point I can’t let this anime go. I get the hate but the hate is part of the watch. Can’t help it but see how it all comes to even after 5 seasons of the same shenanigans

hmmm it felt like this whole season was just filler or i feel that way bc i dont feel like i actually watched it since i had to wait a week between each episode it only registers if i binge... i remember not liking the first season, i thought it was a just another shallow harem and full of shit but i guess we got progress cuz chizuru finally knows how kazu feels abt her thanks to yaemori tbh he really should learn to say no to ruka and be persistent well i can't wait for their greatly anticipated break up.
