My Ribdiculous Reincarnation

This is the best anime this season. I'll die on that hill (and god knows there were some bangers this season). From its absolute bizarre nature to the different art styles that have no business being this good with a nice plot just to add the cherry on the top, I have loved every single episode of this show. If this is a passion project (and it does seem the studio had a lot of fun doing this) all anime should be passion projects and pieces of art. I can understand why some people would have trouble with it, but for those who like me, I crave this little bit of unserious escapism from reality: this hits all the spots

Before I started watching it, I imagined it would be a funny, bizarre comedy anime or a disappointment. As someone who's seen a lot of anime, it was one of the most original anime I've had the pleasure of watching. The segments with different animation styles and the live-action parts were very good until they started introducing their own story. It's the definitive reincarnation isekai. I don't know of any other work that has explored reincarnation beyond just the beginning and the usual second chance. Ribsekai takes much better advantage of it, giving more focus to the gods who are involved in those reincarnations. The goddess was a great character, thanks to her personality, design, and backstory, and the protagonist is one of the most unique characters ever created in an isekai.

This anime is incredibly conflicting. If you are looking for something wacky and don't care if the art style changes all the time, you can probably enjoy this. The humor is rather hit or miss. There are lots of anime tropes but also (what I believe are) a lot of Japanese culture specific gags that will pass by a lot of viewers. This anime was like watching a 30 car pile up where, miraculously, the cars are wrecked but no one was overly hurt. Overall: 6, I am conflicted about this rating. I didn't get a lot of the jokes/humor/gags and was put of by a lot of the art/styles used throughout. But, I couldn't stop watching and by the end I found that I had enjoyed watching. Characters: 7, I enjoyed the characters for the most part and they fulfilled their roles Story: 6, While the overall story was enjoyable and the main reason I watched till the end, the bits/gags of each episode varied wildly. Art/style: 2, I am not a fan of constantly changing style. This show is all over the place. Animation, motion comics, real life actors, paper motion story books, and more. While unique and creative, not my cup of tea. Some of the "art" is ugly/disturbing. "Comedy": 2, there are bits/gags throughout each episode with many episodes having 2. Most of these either went over my head or weren't funny. Some were annoying. Best case scenario, I was not the target audience; worst, the writer(s) weren't/aren't funny.

I will admit that this is a “ribdiculously” creative concept for a show. The mixed media presentation is such a treat, in spite of a few misses (eg. AI rotoscoping, that ugly yellow room). It’s why it pains me to say that without it, the show would probably be a 4/10 for me. On paper, the happy-go-lucky protagonist and psychopathic goddess would make a great comedic duo, and they have their moments here and there. Their banter was a little funny at the start of the season, and their little souvenir tradition sort of grew on me. However, they’re far too one-note to evoke humor or sympathy. The protagonist is a bit of a pervert, and they didn’t go too far with it, but it’s in that uncomfortable zone of too subtle to be outrageous and too frequent to be excused. The Goddess’s riffs on the stories mostly falls short due to her flat delivery. Her cold personality makes her dynamic with the protagonist funny for a bit, but less humorous as the season drags on. That gets to the humor, which starts out pretty strong, but the show rarely matches the outrageous, offbeat feel that the first reincarnation manages to capture. It’s hit-or-miss in the first few episodes, and then the hits start to feel less and less impressive. Regarding the riffing, I wonder if there’s a culture/language barrier stifling the humor. Even though my Japanese isn’t great, based on the writing, the riffs feel like they were a pain to translate because of different expectations for that kind of humor between languages. The premise of this guy hanging out with his bros and screwing up the multiverse ought to be chaotic and charming. Unfortunately, his friends are mostly non-entities outside of the Goddess, and the multiverse plot is too abstract to feel like it matters in a sincere or humorous way. The finale almost succeeds in tying the lore and characters up into an emotional conclusion, but it’s too little, too late. My ultimate assessment tips positive because of how creative the presentation is, but it feels a little wasted on this plot and these characters.

This is one of the best anime i seen this year, the director of this anime deserves a award, sadly this anime is not mainstream or popular to much popular to win a award the idea of each reincarnation being a diferent animation style is insane the only negative thing about this anime is the fact that the protagonist is a pervert sometimes if you ignore this detail the anime is a great recomendation to wacht this anime deserves a better rating. i dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to sayi dont have any other word to say End

This anime is great. Despite being a parody, it has a very well written and well thought-out story. The anime first baits you into thinking it's an relatively episodic series, but things from earlier episodes that looked like throwaway bits keep coming up and eventually become integral parts of the world building. Unlike most isekai, this show follows a series of reincarnations which means that no particular reincarnation ever really overstays its welcome; shows such as "Reincarnated as a Vending Machine" eventually lose the plot and turn from "oh the main character is a vending machine doing vending machine stuff" to "oh the main character is really stretching the definition of a vending machine and is now fighting a powerful demon," this anime never gives a particular reincarnation the time to do so, keeping each one feeling fresh. The show is presented in a manzai-like setup, with the protagonist being the boke and the goddess being the tsukkomi looking at each reincarnation as a flashback and commenting on it, which is also pretty unique. The change in art styles for each reincarnation helps make them feel distinct, and you never know what type of art-style the next reincarnation will be. The anime has several really good plot twists and a far more competent plot than a show like this needed; it would be very easy to have done a show like this completely episodic and not had an underlying plot, but this show not only has a plot anyway, it also has a great one. This anime does comedy better than a lot of comedy anime, romance better than a lot of romance anime, and is generally an amazing isekai. I'd personally consider this the best isekai of the season, and definitely up there as one of the top isekai. If you can handle a bit of wackiness, I would highly recommend this.

Imagine this! You are a teacher, and you ask your student to make a movie using their own style of animation or storytelling. Then you watch those movies, and the variety of creativity that spawns from it is magnificent! Now put that analogy into an anime, you got this cinema! How did I find this? From the MAL seasonal anime list this season. Appealing (Why did I get into the anime?) The megami! As simple as that, I saw how beautiful she is. I watched. Platform CatchPlay (Indonesia), Crunchyroll, and Tropics Anime Asia (Delayed upload for 1 month). The review; Plot/Story An unnamed guy (Yes, the MC doesn't have an official name) died from a meteor and was sent to an afterlife. There, he met with the goddess who would serve his reincarnation. There are rules on doing a reincarnation, though, so the boy needs to think outside the box. He got it! He wanted to be a rib of a hero. After he reincarnates, he will come back in some years by dying or getting bored with the world. From that point on, the boy kept reincarnating as every niche thing that a person could imagine. That was the gist, but there is actually more to it than you imagine. I won't tell you what it is; you have to watch it for yourself. Character Each episode introduced many characters. Like, lots lots. Most of them will be forgettable, but that's alright. The show feels like a talent show anyway, not all the participants would be remembered. Some are still quite important, though, like Sockeye, Yamada, and Tanaka. And honestly, I don't really care too much about other characters; I only care about the boy and Megami, since it was their story. OST/SFX Want me to be honest? The OP and ED are the bang of this season. No joke, I love it more than anything else that aired this season. For the others? Like OST and SFX? It was alright. Two Thumbs Up! Animation Varied. As I said, there is more than one animator studio doing this anime. The main one being Qzil.la and S.O.K. You might be asking why that is the thing? Well, every reincarnation story have their own credit for who is in charge of that part of the story. That was also why I said in the beginning that it felt like a teacher giving a project to their student. It felt like that! VA Two Thumbs Up! The conclusion; Enjoyable I would say this anime is better than every anime I've watched this season. It's such a joy watching people have such passion just for being silly online. It makes me genuinely smile. Worthable Yes. You, people, who love art. I encourage you to watch this. This can be your motivation to make art. Delivery Great! OG Sauce There isn't any official English translation. I hope someday we get one, because I heard that even though the story is finished in the anime, I didn't see the whole picture! There are more stories that the boy, and Megami went through. Overall 8.7/10 Without a doubt, I would miss this anime dearly. It was something that I love seeing, where a wacky concept turned into something wonderful and special because they have fun making it within this anime.

Ridiculous is an understatement when it comes to this show. Ridiculous Reincarnation is a anime that consists of parody galore. They make fun of other isekais and provide meta commentary. What this means is that this show's entire bread and butter is the comedy. Sure there are a few... serious? moments.... Or at least some attempts? The overarching plot is something that resolves itself,so giving it any more thought is a pointless endeavour. The comedy... It's hit or miss honestly. I've watched funnier shows that didn't try this hard to be honest. My deer Friend nokotan comes off the top of my head. The animations are varied and there's even some live action at some point. This variety and all the different animation styles are clearly an homage to the industry and it's roots ; and honestly the saving grace that makes it a mixed bag for me. Otherwise i just wouldn't recommend it. And the reason for it is simple. There's far too much parody and meta commentary and nothing else really. While the artists for this anime had to put in the extra work, the story was pretty much "random bullshit go!". That in my opinion is why most shows and movies that go hard on parody and meta stuff fall flat. There's just not any substance to tie it all togheter. In my opinion a sucessful show in this departament should tell a better story then the media it mocks. This one does not. Another issue to be had is the characters. They are just one-note and walking cliches. The irony when an anime tries to make fun of cliches only to have said cliches on full display is not lost on me. There's just too many issues to fully recommend this show. But you could find worse ways to spend your time,so i won't put it down entirely either. A mixed bag in the true sense of the word.

Look, I know, the premise is ridiculous. Reincarnated as a hero's rib? How can that possibly be anything but pure parody? Just suspend disbelief for a bit. I promise, from the very start, to the very end, there really is a plot here. I, like many others, went into this expecting a low-production-value, episodic, parody-laden mess of a good time, with a few laughs here and there. Instead I came out of it with a new favorite and an expression of shock, vindication, and an appreciation for the creativity that went into this masterpiece. I'm ignoring some of the review guidelines here; I don't really do reviews. So if you need to know if this is something you personally will like, then read someone else's review. But if you're on the fence, hop the heck off and go watch this thing. It's absolutely worth it.

I had to make a review after being awake 5 hours just to complete the anime all in a single night, was It worth it? Im just gonna say this Is one of the few anime i will NEVER regret watching in my entire life.I watched 400 animes, which are a lot,im not gonna say a lot about my ridiculous reincarnation, all you gotta know is that, despite the name its a great story which at least touched me deeply, both the comic moments and the more serious one made me cry with laughter and cry with sadness, i geniunely think this anime made me love anime again, i started watching em like it was a normal routine, but this anime? Oh God only knows how much i loved it. I need more Megami-sama and Ore moments, they're chemistry Is on another level, and yeah i watched also a lot of romance anime, i don't care, they're relationship is one of my favorite in fiction, as im writing this i just recently finished to watch my ridiculous reincarnation, i don't there a masterpiece like this one will ever be made again. Please watch it, its totally worth your time, the only thing i want is to everyone to appreciate this anime as much as me.

One of the more novel anime's I have ever seen. Its use of mixed arts and just-barely-sensible plot is reminiscent of Smiling Friends, although I feel the plot is a bit too contrived for my rating to go higher. This show is good art, and a good moment-to-moment shout, but there lacks a sense of mythos around the plot, especially for a series about gods and universes. To continue the Smiling Friends comparison, even just the basic duties of working at that company, or the situation surrounding it, is questionable and vague, and it allows you to enjoy the events of the show while building your own mythos of what they actually do. This show initially feels the same way, but the anime production makes an effort to tie up all of its great questions by the end of the season, slowly pulling back the curtain on what is initially a very vapid and mythical story. Perhaps that's not a bad thing, but I don't know how to describe it, this feels like it's a spiritual successor to things such as Pop Team Epic or Nichijou. Viewing things through that lens however, the main plot (which takes itself rather seriously), becomes a bit of a strange spot in a show that is otherwise very unserious and open-ended. I may be talking through my cap here, but I believe if the main plot was not as contrived and let itself be more freeing and vague, the viewing experience ironically would have improved, as I feel a whiplash going from what is practically a shrooms trip, into "ahhh yes, serious exposition and hard set rules for story mechanisms and the like."

This is one of those Anime where you really wonder "What drugs were they on?" when they created each episode. No two are the same in style or execution. Some of the animation is old school, some is like art in motion. One of the final episodes with the all woman hero team has incredible animation. The plots? Totally insane. It makes DanDaDan look normal. You think Turbo Granny was out there? Wait until you see this. You may be turned off by the free-flowing nature of the Anime, but give it a chance. It's an amazingly FUN anime. If you like off-the-wall anime, bizarre plots and animation, you'll really like this. It's one of the most unique anime I have seen in years. There's NOTHING realistic about this crazy series. They poke fun at everything from the Power Rangers to the demon lord tropes.

Review: Megami "Isekai Tensei Nani ni Naritai desu ka" Ore "Yuusha no Rokkotsu de" I'll be honest — I'm not great at writing reviews, so I'll just say this: Just watch it. At first, I assumed this was going to be another generic isekai anime, the kind that just coasts on flashy visuals and nothing else. But the moment I actually sat down and watched it, I was completely caught off guard. I couldn't predict where it was going, and there was always something exciting happening. Didn't see that coming at all, lol. The art style is genuinely unlike anything I've seen. Who would ever think an anime would go from normal cartoon-style animation in one scene to hyper-realistic visuals in the next — or even papercraft-style artwork? It's wildly creative, and honestly, that creativity alone kept me hooked all the way to the end. As for the character designs, there's nothing overly complicated — just a regular guy and an absolutely stunning goddess. And yes, I have to say it: the goddess design is chef's kiss. Huge props to whoever designed her, because she immediately became a favorite of mine. Now I desperately want merchandise to collect. Please make it happen. The emotional delivery in this anime is also spot on. The comedy lands when it needs to, and the serious moments actually hit hard. You can feel that the team genuinely cared about getting the characters right, and it shows. I think some people might not click with it right away — and that's okay. But I'd really encourage you to give it a little more time before dropping it. I promise this one won't disappoint you or waste your time. This is easily the funniest anime of the year for me. It's still a web novel for now, and I really hope it gets a proper manga or light novel release someday — because it's honestly too good to stay that way. I'd buy it without hesitation. Someone please make it happen... I just need to be rich first. 😂

This was such a fun show! I especially enjoyed all of the different medias put into the episodes and then they show you some behind the scenes during the credits. Not to mention, I personally love the evolving credits with all the little gifts that the MC brings back. You can totally tell that the people working on this show love what they do. This is a great anime to not need to pay a lot of attention to either. There are some call backs and some little jokes here and there but it's also one where you don't -really- have to follow the story super closely to understand everything since each episode is unique and they kind of explain everything as it happens, or rather when the MC reincarnates. The relationship between the MC and the goddess was fun and cute. The MC's personality was a little annoying to me but I'm almost positive that is what they were going for. I wish we were able to pull a little more dialogue from the goddess and the side characters but the main focus was the stories of reincarnation. I totally recommend this anime. Well done!
Yoshit92
Clearly the most underrated anime of the year. Before the season, I have literally never heard speak about this anime. But with all I have seen of the trailers, I'm absolutely not disappointed. This is a parody of the parody isekai where we follow a protagonist who goes to be reincarnated in different strange reincarnations. And the quality first is obviously the diversity of DA that we don't be usual to see in other animes. There is visual novel, stop motion, shin chan, minecraft or even live action (the human sun is so funny). This diversity is a really good point for keep the viewer on the breath. And the other loud point is her protagonist who's very appealling because he's profoundly dumb, pervers, kind, strange and loves his different life. This is one of the 2 only great isekai I ever watched.

MEGAMI-SAMAAAAAAAAA "Isekai Tensei Nani ni Naritai desu ka" Ore "Yuusha no Rokkotsu de" a.k.a. My Ridiculous Reincarnation — An Insult to Isekai. Isekai is meant to be an escape for people who imagine a second chance at life. Despite their criticism, there is no doubt that plenty of isekai stories give readers and watchers story morals to live a better life before it is too late. Therefore, it is an honor to have series like Mushoku Tensei, Re:ZERO, and The Rising of The Shield Hero for representing why any person who loves isekai deserves at least a second chance. However, here, my friend, is the most disrespectful way to illustrate isekai. My Ribdiculous Reincarnation is about a nameless protagonist boy, like many RPG main characters, who is hit by a meteor, instead of a truck, and sent to the Isekai world. However, like Konosuba and Nonbiri Nouka, The Protagonist was classified as a rare irregular creature and immediately sent to the Goddess, or simply just Megami. As an irregular, The Protagonist is allowed to reincarnate as anything, but any "generic" isekai, like Sword Hero, Demon Lord, or even an NPC villager who speaks only one line, requires a lot of waiting time, ranged from 50 to 50k years. Thus, The Protagonist reincarnates as bizarre things such as the Hero's Rib, a Hermit Crab, a vegetable, the Hero's Curry Plate, or even the Third Yuri Harem that was only mentioned once. Ok, it is just a straight-up insult to the genre. What made the author hate isekai so much that he decided to write the story back in 2017? Jokes aside, the concept is done well. It surely isn't a whole animation production by Qzil.la and S.o.K, but their contribution is, nonetheless, good. Therefore, shout out to ones like Maria Tokareva, Sayonara Zetsubo-sensei mangaka Kouji Kumeta, shoujo mangaka Sayaka Yamazaki, and many more. Now to answer anyone's curiosity of "Why not 'Chinchin'?" "Ore no Kokan wa Bishoujo Datta no Ka" and "Chinchin Devil wo Oe!" are two of the answers. Meaning that it has never been a 0-year wait at all, despite the web novel being released years earlier. In short, this anime is Ribdiculous. This anime is either a masterpiece or so bad that "you'd rather stop trashing on isekai slop and return to battle shounen" (Megane Sensei, 2026). No middle ground. With weebs currently in need of waifus, this show might lean toward a throw-off to them because it has no waifu…To be fair, Megami is a waifu, so okay.

Incredible anime. Truly peak kino. They do so much with comedy and styles it's incredible. I don't remember the last time I laughed so much. Loved main story as well. Goddess is THE GODDESS. Love her character her form and how she interacts with the MC. MC is great as well. He really plays his role and goes all and beyond for Goddess. If you attentive enough you can start figuring out the meta narrative early on and it really enchases the experience. My main complaint about this anime and it's character is that i want more and will be checking manga and novel. NGL i NEED more romance between MC and the Goddess. Sadly i understand why people may dislike this anime but it comes down to lack of anime meta understanding and taste. And as a comedy it may not be your cup of tea but what can you do with it.
