Overall Fumoffu is trying to be what the FMP TV series should have been. Sadly, I think it fails on several points. The original quickly transformed from an interesting setting into meaningless mecha-action without even touching the most interesting part of the setting; the boy-meets-girl and the humour that the clash between two such different characters would instigate. This 13 episodes were a chance to set things right. Animation I think the animation is a good way above average (it's actually really great), and the characters very nicely designed. Umm, yeah, so far so good. Sound Everything is fine here. More than fine, actually, the opening theme is one of my absolut favourites and the ending theme is good too. And a thumb up for the "Bunta-kun running" sound effects. Story See, this is were Fumoffu fails miserably. Don't get me wrong, it is still an enjoyable and fun anime. But the story doesn't get anywhere, it's basically thirteen totally independent episodes with no coherency between tem at all. The series doesn't have any set goal to strive against. One such goal could have been a little löve-löve-romänce between the main characters (somtimes the attraction between them is showing, but it never takes off). If coherency isn't your cup of tea, though, there is many laughs to be had. Character Since the story doesn't move anywhere, the characters don't either. Sanosuke is as foreign as he ever was, and doesn't show any signs of changing. Chidori is a nice girl, but her warm heart tends to boil over a little bit too often (a la Narusegawa), and she doesn't develop a bit either in this series. There are lots of side characters that could have gotten their part of the story examined a bit more, but as it stands, they mostly keep to the background and don't develop much. Value I watched this for the second time because I mistakenly thought I really liked it the first time. It is actually much better than the first FMP, but there has to be more to this setting than this! Oh, you are telling me there is an OVA to check out? Cheers, I'm off!

Before I begin: You have to be at least acquainted with the FMP series and its basic background if you want to appreciate this series.(Oops! I already began) Sousuke,a military nut who has spent almost all his life upto now surrounded by terrorists and war has to guard Chidori, normal Japanese girl and act within the 'common' common sense. Yeah, so how hilarious can it turn out to be.. not much? Wrong! Trust me, you'll hardly get a greater dose of humor elsewhere. This story just goes on to incredulously display how dangerous and dumb and droll it can be to have a man whose mind is a 'combat-oriented manual' live a normal high-school life. The abundance of humor utilizing normal, usual situations and satire directed at inane military attitude coupled with the absence of sexual innuendos and ecchi references makes this anime a really rare one (Though you will find censored 'terminologies' in an episode. And I don't loath ecchi humor btw). In my opinion, although a side-story, this anime is undoubtedly excellent and displays the ingenious talent of the team to create fresh humor from simple, sometimes inconspicuous, situations and some truly insane ones. And if you liked FMP, you'll more than like this. Most of the plot basically moves around the school life of Chidori and Sousuke and their friends. The episodes are independent events (some episodes have two independent stories) so there's hardly any link or depth throughout the series. But each of the individual events has been skilfully crafted from the aspect of location, situation, dialogue and timing. Love-letters, confessions, dates, school lunch, beach holidays, Rugby death-matches and bacteriological weapons - the diversity of situations it utilizes is really good and the impact it creates is even better [!!Spoiler: Who the hell would fire a real gun at a shooting arcade, Just how much dumb do you have to be that you really 'capture' the girls and train players like recruits, How dangerous can a deranged caretaker become and Question: How do you split watermelons?.. with a shotgun of course!.... XD -- just imagine the impact]. So irrespective of overall plot development or depth or whatever it scores for being witty and clever and hilarious and I'll give the story a 9/10. (btw I do not think that a central developing storyline is essential to a great comedy, not anymore :D) The art and graphics of Fumoffu are quite similar to the FMP series, the exception being that there are no mechas or intricate artillery displays (but guns and bombs are used a lot)-- the characters are well designed and proportioned similarly, the coloring scheme is also similar but some different areas are explored by introducing new locations (school clubs, playground, cafeteria, hospitals, recreation parks, hot springs etc.) and characters. The motion is fluid and some of the scenes like that of Sousuke escaping the patrol car on bicycle, battling the butler and the battle at hot springs are stunningly well depicted. The music choice in Fumoffu is.. good, I think. The OP "Sore ga Ai Deshou' is beautiful(I so love it) but doesn't seem quite apt due to a serious sort of theme, the ED is fine. The BGM frequently has some serious or throbbing tones which are meant more as a mockery than otherwise and the romantic tunes are also great but those actually meant as comedic are not spectacular. So to say other than the soundtracks that explicitly convey laughs the choice is better than standard, thus even though the BGM is great its not very appropriate. The synchronization and timing are good. Fumoffu fully exploits the well-developed character base of FMP while also introducing its own cast. The characters of Sousuke, Chidori and Tessa are extebsively used but hardly developed and maintain a status-quo ( They're not inanimate but they are static). But the Student council president, school staff and students (Ono-D, Tsubaki etc.) along with others like Yakuzas, Police lady and most notably Bonta-kun are nicely introduced and characterized. Bonta-kun is one of the most hilarious and enticing characters of the series and you'll see why if you watch. I love the series so I'll give a slightly biased 8/10 to the characters. This is one of the most enjoyable comedy series I've ever watched- it doesn't resort to stale or recycled humor or cheap tricks or gap-filling fan-service and not even ecchi humor and still manages to provide a great entertaining experience. The events are brief and hardly any time is wasted on developing a central storyline or theme, the conversations are concise and comprehensible, the sense of satire is modest and a quite a few scenes are like - OMG! OMG! and you clench your stomach twisting with laughter.. What this means is that you get a show with nearly 100% comedy since almost every bit of time is utilized in doing so. A value for your time and laughter for your heart.. You've gotta see this one.

What a geniality. "Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu" is the second season of "Full Metal Panic!", but the plot has a different approach. Instead of being a serious story with nice jokes -like the previous season-, this is a romantic comedy with a little emphasis on parodies, especially of "Full Metal Panic!". The story mix together the pacific days at school with the zero-common-sense of Sagara Sousuke, so imagine the result. With the comedy there are also some interesting plot twists. One good new is that character designs were improved. I think there aren't many changes in sound effects (compared to the first season), I can say that music improved. I was amazed with the relation between music and plot, especially with a couple of piano plays to put tension. The personalities of characters are pretty much the same, and in this Season you will get to know a little more about them. There are, also, new characters. Ah, and I can't forget to tell you: as it must be, Fumoffu is full of fan service. So, if you liked "Full Metal Panic!" and like comedies, you have to see Fumoffu.

Synopsis- the story is described as a spin-off the full metal panic series as there is a question mark instead of an exclamation mark in the title describing is ambiguity in the full metal panic cannon although it's sometimes regarded as the second season of full metal panic. the reason why is that the season is mostly a school comedy without the military and mechs from the previous season. also worth noting is the series was handed over from gonzo to kyoto animation, wierd huh. Story- the story is mostly the comedy parts of the previous season, and encompassing it for the entirety of this season . there isn't much if a plot to go by but mostly "funny" situations that Sagara and Chidori get into. the skits usually last half an episode or for the entire episode with smaller jokes in the middle. just like the previous season the comedy is either a hit or a miss, nut what makes it better is that since it's mostly comedy they have more time to build up the comedy. since one skit could lead up to the next skit few episodes later because of the repercussion of their actions which is always a nice touch in comedy which is continuity. however there are still misses and since they are longer so is my boredom of watching the episode. the season doesn't have much of an end per say and just end abruptly which feels lack luster 5.5/10 characters- the characters from last season are still the same as always with no change because of course this is a spin-off. new characters are introduced such as the school student president, his visitant, and other headteachers but only stay in this season only. they have okay quirks but are nothing special. the characters works for the show at hand 5/10 animation- as noted above the show was handed over to kyoto animation and there has been noticeable improvements. the character design and art style look more polished as well as more lighting as the show has a more brighter tone to it. the animation has a decent flow to it that works well with the comedy. it's nothing amazing but it's an improvement from the previous season. 7/10 sound- the voice acting is still well done and the soundtrack is ok but mostly forgettable compared to last seasons. 6/10 enjoyment- sometimes funny sometimes boring ok all around 5/10 overall- although a comedy there's not much worth noting for story and characters, the animation and art have improved, but the same can't be said for the soundtrack. 5.5/10

This is my very first review, and all because I like watching this one. I've watched this series so many times, and I wish that there's new one. This one is the greatest anime series I've ever watched. Although in the other seasons which have full action pack adventures, this one made me laugh so hard enough that even made me not satisfied enough of this short season. My favorite characters were Sosuke and Kaname, because I think they're a good team. Even if you have professional military and combat skills, this doesn't mean that you'll do anything as a soldier does. Good thing Sosuke have Kaname in his side (more like a babysitter), avoiding too much casualties might occur. Seriously how did he get all these weapons? And why the heck does the school did not take necessary precautions on Sosuke's inhuman actions like carrying a weapon inside/outside the school? But so much for my serious statements, I don't even care about how stupid or dumb Sosuke was. His actions were the most funniest part of the series, along with Kaname who's stimulating more of the story. I've watched many outrageous events, and most of it was the cause of Sosuke's godlike actions. My overall rating is 10, cuz it's too awesome. And also, I would like to recommend this one for those who haven't seen this yet, I'm sure you'll LOL too much as you'll get a stomach ache.

Overall: You are going to have to watch the first season of Full Metal Panic to fully understand what is going on, though its not really necessary, I personally started the FMP series with this season so it helps to watch the first season. To be brief, FMP: Fumoffu is a collection of fillers that fit in between the episodes of the first season. Basically, FMP: Fumoffu, is to be watched "FOR TEH LULZ". Story: Well, its a bunch of fillers, so theres no almost no connection between the other FMP seasons and Fumoffu story wise, but each episode has its own separate story and nearly all of them are absolutely hilarious. Art: Very good, they didnt cut corners or anything so overall the art is colorful and I havent noticed any bland art moments Sound: The opening is very good and there were no parts of the bgm where I felt that the music hindered the mood. Character: There is not much character development in Fumoffu, but coming off the first season, its not hard to understand the characters. Enjoyment: I had plenty of moments where I bust out laughing because of the ridiculous situations. The humor is not hard to understand compared to other comedy series. I would say most people will have a great time watching this, unless comedy isnt their thing...

The “Full Metal Panic!” series does have some interesting material, but it's very intertwined with the mecha genre. When you take the mecha and the military away, what do you get? “Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu” — an average high-school comedy. It has no underlying plot, unlike the other Full Metal Panic!'s. I can't believe I'm saying this but... Fumoffu needs mecha. All it really is is a collection of behind-the-scenes things that happen during the original but don't make it in because of the military/action-focus. It’s a true slice-of-life anime. That’s wouldn’t necessarily be bad, had the episodes been a bit more… Unique. Each episode follows this formula: [Sousuke misinterprets some common situation] + [He does something stupid] + [Produces "hilarious" results] + [Kaname punishes him in an over-the-top way] OPTIONAL: [Kaname rescues Sousuke] AND/OR [Audience shares in the "fluffy awesomeness" that is Kaname/Sousuke] It's not all bad, but it can get repetitive. You know, I feel as if this series was created with the sole intent of making Sousuke look like an idiot. Granted, he is hopeless at social situations but you'd think that a war-hardened soldier would exercise the least bit of caution. Well, it was funny to watch him; he was literally the life and soul of the anime, coupled with Kaname's reactions. Gotta love over-the-top characters! The art and sound were decent, a quality you would expect from "Full Metal Panic!" Nothing overly remarkable, but pretty good nonetheless. As I said, Fumoffu was a little repetitive, and I sometimes had to struggle with myself to get to the next episode. Somethings just weren't funny, or got overused (eg. Kaname hitting Sousuke with her fan repeatedly), but I thought some episodes were truly hilarious, namely the rugby training episode or even the gang training. Yup, I admit, Fumoffu would have been so much better if there had been mecha and action as the main points. The high-school dynamic is good for Full Metal Panic!.... as a sub-plot.

Fumoffu is like a third serious to Full Metal Panic, rather than having battles, fights, shounen stuff like what the other Full Metal Panic? serious were, this one, Full Metal Panic?Fumoffu is more emotional and romantic. I'd say it's more of a comedy than romance other than this one part near the end of the anime. But anyways enough of that....... The reason I think this anime is called "Fumoffu" because the guy does have feelings for the girl but is too shy to tell her, so he hides in this amusement park mascot costume to somewhat prove his feelings for her. But whenever he talks he's like "Fumoffu, fumoffu, fumoffu" and so that's how I think the origin of Fumoffu came from. This series is kinda rare, the guy is all over military that he's really dense. And the girl likes him but when ever she tries to send some kinda signal to him he mistakes it for something else. Everything's so ironic, and the guy is so serious about everything in a way that makes everyone laugh. The story was quite detailed however, i think it lacked a bit of logic in it, like it's quite crazy and things don't usually happen. But again, it's an anime so it's acceptable. I loved the drawing especially the girl who's so open to everyone but the guy is so serious looking and acting as if he's part of a military (although he is part of a milatary but is going to school as a NORMAL student). I enjoyed it quite alot and hopefully you would too.....i know i blabbered on and on and on but if you made it through all this I'll especially recommend you to watch Full Metal Panic?Fumoffu

I was really intrigued by the idea of turning Full Metal Panic into a full rom-com, since the setup and potential were already present in season 1, and honestly, Fumoffu was just simply brilliant. Unlike most comedy or slice-of-life anime, this series leans into its greatest strength: self-awareness. It parodies its own source material so thoroughly that it becomes hilarious in its own right. I never expected a mecha series to transition into a completely canon slice-of-life comedy for its second season (or “season 1.5”), yet it works perfectly, adding new characters while also expanding on what viewers already loved. Where most anime gloss over plot holes with a shrug of “it’s anime,” Fumoffu instead uses parody to tackle and exaggerate those very absurdities. While Japanese anime often treat military themes with seriousness, here we get a satirical take, mocking Sousuke’s overblown military instincts to the extreme, and it’s fantastic. The humor feels fresh and tightly tied to character personalities fans already know from season 1. Kaname Chidori especially shines in this format; without the combat-heavy setting, her strong and straightforward nature comes through even more, letting her reactions to Sousuke’s antics (and others) land harder. The rest of the cast also gets meaningful screen time, and halfway through, the “Fumoffu” mascot is introduced, with later jokes cleverly built around it. Personally, I found Chidori’s bickering to be the highlight, not only her back-and-forth with Sousuke but also her interactions across various incidents. There’s a genuine, human quality to her character that makes her both relatable and incredibly funny to watch. Overall, Fumoffu has a unique vibe that’s difficult to capture in words. But if you enjoyed the first season, you’ll almost certainly love this. It’s a one-of-a-kind sequel that stands out as one of the most memorable comedy anime I’ve ever seen.

I just find it funny how this season might be the best anime series out of all of Full Metal panic, or at least it's the most consistent and entertaining. Somehow the jokes revolving around Sousuke and his military history never get old, it's great. It's animated surprisingly well, especially for the time, I have practically no complaints. The characters are maybe a little stereotypical, but nonetheless entertaining. If anything, they could've made this season a little longer, maybe not 2 full seasons of this but a few more episodes would've worked nicely. One note I'll say is I think the dub cast is excellent, Chris Patton perfectly plays the role of Sousuke, and the episode where he acts as a drill sergeant for a sports team is just hilarious.

Robert's Too Late Reviews coming at ya, though I couldn't find a bonta kun costume my size! As always we're working the dub. As we look over today's entry, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, first remember #PrayForKyotoAni and also that this is *not* a mainline entry in the Full Metal Panic! series. This is very much a side story and is not directly related to Season one, the Second Raid, or Invisible Victory. Short of it is, if you liked the 'school antics' part of the main story, this is nothing but that, and you'll be in heaven! If you're looking for more mecha action and tangible bad guys, might want to pass. Let's airlift this thing outta here! Story:8 The story shifts from the high stakes and world domination of the Second Raid (this came out before Invisible Victory) and moves firmly into the comedic slice of life genre. In fact in the first episode Kaname announces the show as a 'romantic comedy' much to Sousuke's surprise. There is no set narrative or overarching theme beyond wacky people getting into wacky hijinks. Of course Kamane's going to run her mouth at the wrong time and get in trouble, and of course Sousuke's going to overreact with the level of force he uses to get her out of said trouble. But overall there is no villain to defeat, except maybe an errant vice principle, and nothing more than slice of life tales to be had. This, in my mind, is a very good thing, as it brings the levity briefly displayed in the main series to the forefront. If you liked Kaname whacking Sousuke and calling him a 'military maniac' before the real action began in the previous seasons, then this is nothing but that, and you'll be laughing your head off before the end of the second episode, trust me. If you are looking for the tense military action, and the mechs and all, this isn't the show for you. Not a single mech shows up, nor a single villain that lasts more than one episode. This one is purely about Sousuke overreacting and Kaname bashing his head in for it. There are moments of tension, and there is some action to be had, but just not on the grand scale as before. Instead of facing armies, Sousuke faces thugs and small gangs, and the errant karate club president, those kinds of foes. There is a quite insane police officer that shows up for a few episodes but she's very much comedic relief and not a serious threat. Yes, Sousuke still brings weapons to school, and they inadvertently get set off, such as a student pulling the pin on a smoke grenade on accident, and Sousuke does blow up a shoe locker (or two) over a love letter, that kind of thing. It's all the comedy bits without the drama, and I love it for it. Kaname is still very much herself, a bit cocky, and quick to whack Sousuke over the head for his perceived ineptitude. Of course Sousuke's still a badass of the highest caliber, and handles problems with violence quite easily, even if he is completely clueless about high school life. And considering this is a slice of life show, leads to all kinds of wacky mixups that Kaname has to sort out. There is a lot of your required SoL shows, the festival episode, the beach show, the one where they go to a hot spring, etc. In fact, mentioning the hot spring, if you are even remotely familiar with the characters from the mainline series, then you owe it to yourself to watch Episode 9 at the very least. IT IS EPIC. Kurz, Melissa, and even Tessa (and one WELL placed rubber duckie) all make an appearance and I just can't find words, watch it and bathe in it's silly glory. Unlike the tense action of previous Panics! this show is slower paced and out to tickle the funny bone. For me, it did so successfully. Art: 8 The art looks exactly like the other series which is why I rated it so high. Everyone looks exactly as expected to look with no weird changes or deviations. Consistency would be key here, and they hit the mark dead on. Bullseye. Sound: 8 I love the new opening and closing themes, they are incredibly pretty. They also let us know right off the bat we're not stepping back into a mecha battle show, but into something different, and somewhat lighter in tone. Again, the voice actors all appear for their roles, everyone is spot on sounding, even the mysterious new class president. The sound effects are exactly as expected for a comedy series as well, and there's no complaints there. The only real complaint I can think of is that in the dub version some people might not care for Kyouko's voice as she's a little high pitched, but if you're a fan of FMP! you've already heard her for two seasons and have likely accepted or adjusted to her. Character: 8 Everyone for the most part acts exactly like they are supposed to. Take away the threat of kidnapping and huge mech battles and we're left with a young girl annoyed by the boy she likes constant military tactics, and a clueless boy just doing the only thing he knows how: be a soldier. With no real danger to speak of, Kaname alternates between beating the shit out of Sousuke and kind of dreamily sighing after him. Sousuke has his feelings for Kaname hinted at as well, as he continues to protect her. The supporting cast all act and do the same as they did in the mainline series. There is a new class president that seems like he should be a faculty member, seems much older than a high school student, and has this paper fan that every time we see it, sometimes in the same scene, has a different phrase or word written on it. He's mysterious and often sides with Sousuke much to Kaname's despair. He's interesting, and just mysterious enough for the role. There's also a list of 'bad guys' who show up for an episode, maybe two, and go their merry way. This ranges from a gang leader with a heart for family, to a crazed cop out to prove herself after acting like, well, a crazed cop. They are all pretty well done, and memorable enough and serve their purpose to set up more hijinks for our primary couple. Enjoyment: 8 Straight 8's for me this time, as I did really enjoy this series. I'm a big Full Metal Panic fan to start with, was one of the first anime titles I watched with the intention of watching anime. It was good fun then, and helped stoked the flames of anime passion in me, and it's still a good time now. I think I prefer this iteration more than the mainline series, as it does have so much good humor in it. Also of note is that part of the episodes are broken down into to related pieces. So some 24 minute shows are made of two 12 minute mini episodes. This isn't the case for all, or even most, but its there in some of them so I figured I'd mention it. Best Girl: Suprise! Kyouko! I love the way she's always taking pictures, and her voice is pitchy but fitting. I fell for her the episode she helps Sousuke on a stakeout and wears all black with him, it's too cute. You'll see what I mean! So I say put on your bonta kun costume and give this one a spin. Who knows? You might want to join the spec op bonta kun forces and stomp out evil wherever it exists! Just remember two things, one, a bonta kun with a shotgun is still armed, and two, watch this series! Bonta paws up for this one!

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu have a special place in my heart. It was one of the first ever Slice of Life, Comedy`s i ever saw, and i have been in love with it ever since. And i can say that you can watch Fumoffu and enjoy it to its fullest, even if you don`t know anything about the serie at all, because that was how i started. I did not know that there was a first season, when i started watching Fumoffu, and i was surpriced when i learned that there were both a first, and third season(today there is a fourth season as well, that i have not seen yet) That is probably also why, that i feel that Fumoffu is the strongest season of them all. It plays on all the components which makes this show great, its loveable characters. You get to see them in all kind of weird and funny situations, that would not happen in the "original" serie about the robots and the whispered. If you absolutely despise mecha shows, don`t worry you will still be able to enjoy this wierd RomCom to it`s fullest. Of course it`s animation is not flawless, because it is from 2003, but it is still very good animation compared to the standdart of that time, and can even be compared to some shows made around 2010-2012. It can even compeete with the animation of some shows today, but there is a big gape in the animation quality over the episodes, and it is the still frames that is good. The Opening and Ending is just godlike to me. It gives off what the show is all about, friends and loved ones chilling and having fun together. As off now, i have watched it 4 times, and the overall enjoyment of it have been very high! And i will recommend it to everyone who want to watch a good, and very fun show with characters that you are going to love for a long time.

If Second Raid was the more serious, plot driven season, then Fumoffu is the slice of life comedic school season... Fumoffu as LA said above is the more school-comedic-centric season out of the Full Metal Panic! seasons and is VERY much needed to somewhat counterbalance the Second Raid's seriousness and militaristic aspects and by all means Fumoffu does an exceptional job in both it's school life and comedy aspects. Well since it's back to school, it means the typical hijinks of Sousuke and Chidori with Sousuke's lack of common sense but taken to some degrees of extremities for some of the hijinks TO ensue. New characters also comes into the mix, such as Ren Mikihara and Atsunobu Hayashimizu of the school council who gets Sousuke and Chidiori ALSO into some weird crazy situations, Issei Tsubaki of the karate club and a sorta rival friendly character to Sousuke and Yoko Wakana, a crazy cop after Sousuke and is a pretty unpredictable obstacle to Sousuke outside of school in general. The basis of Fumoffu is essentially skits of the typical antics Sousuke and Chidori goes through in school, add in new characters for Sousuke and Chidori to mingle or be an obstacle in and let the hijinks ensue...mostly at the hands of Sousuke. Fumoffu obviously adds in a bit of ship teasing of Sousuke and Chiidori in some moments of non-crazy literally bombastic comedy which LA doesn't mind. The newer characters does get some sort of backstory or screentime such as Issei's rivalry towards Sousuke in all things competition wise to knowing about Ren and the running gag of Yoko wanting to arrest Bonta-kun/Sousuke with madden vigor. The only one that's a mystery is Atsunobu the student council president...like this is LA assumption but considering how he has Sousuke's back and brings him into crazy situations to teach him about daily life, LA suspects him to be in Mithril of some sorts but in a different division or something, we never know this season so it's up in the air which is fine really, keeping the mystery alive. On speaking of Mithril, Tessa does get a small arc where it only inflames the entire love triangle between Sousuke and Chidori annnnd...it doesn't really go anywhere. Yes as much as Chidori has grown on LA throughout both Fumoffu and Second Raid, LA prefers Tessa and is LA's favourite character in the series. Fumoffu nonetheless use their new and old characters well in ANY crazy situation. Where does the spinoff title "Fumoffu" come from?, well it's from Bonta-kun a mascot character in a theme park where Sousuke steals and "helps" Chidori, it even becomes a running gag of Sosuke using it as a "well-designed disguise" to help Chidori behind the scenes or for Sousuke to mask his disguise to someone he has unintentional beef with *cough* Yoko *cough*. See because LA watched Amagi Brilliant Park first, LA didn't even know about Bonta-kun and only knew him as "that mascot character in Full Metal Panic....how in the f*** do LA know that when LA didn't even watch Full Metal Panic......huh". To be honest Bonta-kun DOES show up ALOT in Fumoffu (to be expected that Bonta-kun's Pokespeak is in the title) and Bonta-kun also unintentionally helps Sousuke realize more of Chidori even if it's indirectly but nonetheless, the title makes sense. In the comedy department, well it's the typical brand of humor with Sousuke around with Chidori as the straight woman in most of the scenarios and the comedy does land in most situation especially when Sousuke or a third party takes things out of control with Chidori OR Sosuke and Chidori helps leverage the out of control situation in probably in most cases the unpredictable ways, the extremely crazy reactions or the result of Sousuke's hijinks helps as well. Once again the animation and voice work was done by the same studios (Kyoto Ani for animation with ADV Films and Funimation for dubbing and licensing), the only difference this time around for LA in the Full Metal Panic franchise is that LA watched Fumoffu completely dubbed and it's just as the same as Second Raid. Once again LA might as well praise Kyoto Ani for their expressively comedic timing with the decent animation style with how the dubbing was once again very well done from Chris Patton as Sousuke and Luci Christian as Chidori and Tiffany Grant as Bonta-kun even if some of the extra's had the typical stereotypical voices, nonetheless in terms of production value for a spinoff season, it was top notch. Fumoffu being a slice of life comedy does oddly seem to be more perverted in some ways even if it's slightly rare, especially in some of the crazy situations it goes through but nonetheless LA doesn't mind the volume of fanservice it has...it's for the comedy and Fumoffu doesn't push the fanservice on your face, LA just thought to point it out. Fumoffu is Kyoto Ani's first foray into animation on their own and by god did they did a good job showing off what they were to become later on. Fumoffu takes the aspect of the first season school life and expanded it to a good comedic degree and worked on it with giving us the typical Sousuke hijinks and Chidori's straight woman the situation and Fumoffu just ran with it, explosions or gun ablaze, add in a bigger cast with good comedic chemistry with Sousuke and Chidori and ship teasing of Sousuke and Chidori in the mix and we by all means have a great season of Full Metal Panic in the school life-comedic aspect.

Fumoffu is the 2nd series of Full Metal Panic. Unlike the first series which is somewhat serious and the 3rd which is a bit dark, Fumoffu has no villains, all-comedy and watching the characters in the story fail, get into unnecessary situations and use extraordinary methods to achieve something. I believe it was a pretty heartwarming series considering what the protagonist have to go through later on. In addition, you get to see Fumoffu(although Sasuke in disguise) into action. A stuff animal running around causing rampage is a good way to cause some laughs. In a sense, this this Sasuke changing the world around him even though methods can be a bit extreme at times. It is a pretty enjoyable series. Nothing but to say, except it will be a relief pill the moment you go to the 3rd and final series of FMP.......

Instead of focusing on any mercenaries or chasing down of any villains that took place in the last two seasons, Fumoffu tones it down to a School Life/Comedy genre, while maintaining some some military themes while not enough for it to fit into the genre. If you're wanting any deep drama or war stories you can just turn around right now. There are no deaths in this season as far as I'm concerned. Story - There's really no main story plot that continues in this season. Each episode has it's own story and plot that it follows. This doesn't mean that there's completely no plot there. The plot is just separate pieces that are presented in each episode. While most of the episodes had me laughing out loud, there were some that didn't. Don't get me wrong, i still enjoyed watching them overall. Score - 8 A lot of funny moments. Succeeds as a comedy genre. Art - The art wasn't anything fantastic, compared with the sharpness of the animation we have now. It worked for what it was and i have no problems with it. Using the present as a standard I'll have to give this a Score - 6 Wish they could update the animation which I hope to see next season. Sound - By sound I almost never review the sound effects of the anime. The voice acting was great, for a comedy anime voices and reactions are necessary which they did quite right. Can't say too much for the BGM or the OP, although i did enjoy the ED and stuck around to listen. Score - 7 some good sound here, don't sulk. I wanted to give this a 10 just for having Jun do a voice. Character - Whoever came up with Sagara's character is genius. They worked him very nicely into this anime. Chidori is as beneficial to the anime as ever, never once was I tired of her character. Score - 9 you can only laugh so many times at a character trope, the Sagara/Chidori duo is one of the best pair ups i have seen. I wish there was more Tessa involved. After the season 2 OVA they should take responsibility... Enjoyment - I laugh quite a few times Score - 7 might be a very standard grade but it was just good. Nothing really deep or emotional or made me fall off my chair and rotfl. Overall - 8 If you've bothered to watch the first two seasons, it's worth watching this one for a few laughs you've earned getting to know all the characters. you won't regret it.

These episodes are side-stories from the original Full Metal Panic! and are actually based on the manga. It has the original's characters, Sosuke and Kaname, but it also guest stars some of the original Panic!'s characters. It's more lighthearted than the original series, and focuses mainly on the haphazard romance budding between the two main characters. Some of the greatest moments in the series come out of things that happen in every day life, following the age old tale of "Anything bad that can happen, will happen", with side-splitting results. Obviously, I liked the series, and I could even say that you can enjoy this anime without watching the original Full Metal Panic!, because that's what I did. (heh) It does help to know the main backgrounds of the characters, though. All in all, this was a really great show, and it has something everyone can enjoy. ^_^

The series was funny. There were some episodes I found funny (episode 10 is the winner), and some I found too cruel towards Sagara (episode 1a). But overall, I think the series is funny. Here are my only complaints: 1. Why does everybody threaten to kill Sagara? I mean they never do. They just tie him up/beat him real badly. But at the frame at the end which proclaims that the series is complete, these students aren't bared with fists. They have bats with nails, a chainsaw, a knife, a cheese grater, an ax, a spear, a wrench, a forck & knife, a scalpel, and other deadly weapons. Which leaves me with this: where do half-naked students get this kind of stuff, and does Sagara survive? I think he does (possible thanks to MITHRIL), but if this takes place AFTER Second Raid, he's as good as dead. Which makes me think that the good people at Mithril are the only good guys (Sagara, Kurz, Melissa, Tessa, Kalinin, Mardukas), and the Jindai High School students are b*tches/assh*les. Which is why I despise Kaname, no matter how kickass she is. 2. What is the deal with the police woman who goes to great lengths of PMS-style anger when the name "Sosuke Sagara" is mentioned? Someone needs to put her in a mental institution. And finally... 3. If I was in this series, I'd kick all the Jindai High School students' asses (except Kyoko, Shinji, Ren, and the Student Council president, since they're the only ones even remotely nice to Sagara). That includes kicking the band members in the beanbags, kicking Tsubaki out a window, and locking Kaname in a cage, forcing her to swallow the key. THAT's how much Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu! p*sses me off. I prefer original FMP!, thank you very much.
