Dragon ball z is the best spiritual successor to the original dragon ball, it has made numerous improvements but also quite some mistakes, concerns i will talk about in this review. Story: 9/10 (minor spoilers) This anime has one of the most iconic story-lines and storytelling imaginable, the first arc the sayain saga just shows how much of a threat the new antagonists will be in the future and how futile the z-warriors are now against these new threats. for example Yamcha who was arguably one of the coolest characters in the original DB gets dropped by a fucking seed, Chiaotzu kills him self for no effect on Nappa, Tien loses an arm, Piccolo sacrifices himself for Gohan, krillin gets dropped in a split second and master Roshi doesn't even wanna interfere. Of course goku comes in after coming back from the dead after his training with king kai and obtaining a new found power: the Kaioken and saves his friends after a very iconic fight that jump-starts the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta. The Namek/freeza saga is almost structurally the same except from the new Kaioken form and the Piccolo fusion, and of course my favorite moment in all of DBZ is the death of a dear friend and the SSJ transformation the amount of chills i had watching this as a little snot nosed toddler is unimaginable I've never felt anything like it before, although the frieza fight was quite comical it shows some very serious tones Second to last is the Cell saga with arguably the best villain and ending: It shows the most prominent transformation that Gohan was lacking in the past it shows trunks a Character that has a very upsetting life in his future and the return of Mr.hairline himself vegeta, this arc goes very swimmingly and smoothly the villains are quite unique with villain infighting and and ending that was very upsetting and probably brought tears to little kids eyes. the Boo arc is where it kinda goes downhill: Goku screaming for 3 episodes SSJ3 as a whole thing and the uselessness of the z-fighter that aren't men with spiky yellow hair that scream. Although Maijin Vegeta and his sacrifice is very emotional a worthy redemption not wasted on a very bad character, Gohan gets even stronger with his "ultimate" form and the notorious Vegito this arc does have the best villain in buu and his many forms: he sums up the title "The good, the bad and the ugly." as a unique feature he does succeed in his goals or at least in the goals of many anime villains which is destroying the world and its people. But this is where the best thing is the man that saves THIS ENTIRE ARC from buu is hercule the man the mith the legend he is the reason for victory. But that is the end of the Z story line if you do watch it some plot points are really barely on life support which does upset many fans. Art 10/10 This is a very unique classical old-school art-style and it ages very well, timeless even animation is very consistent over the whole time with some mediocre jobs never dropping towards early DBS levels bad i can say it is just timeless and nostalgic. characters 10/10 the characters are very well done some die down rapidly E.G. yamcha but even the new characters like trunks, vegeta, gohan are very well done but there isn't really development all too many times but when it does happen its mostly emotional and very touching. sound 9/10 the sound is the tricky part both the sub and dub are very good some people might prefer the other and ive seen both and still i cannot decide which is better they are both extremely well voice acted and sound effects are unique but many times re-used for imaginable budget purposes. enjoyment 10/10 This show is timeless if you watched it as a kid you'll never forget the experience until death neither if you start at this point in time when reading this it's just a very lovable laid back shonen that is exiting and enjoyable to many levels. overall 10/10 as much as i'am a fanboy i will never ever not enjoy this show i recommend it to many people that prefer the old gen to the newer gen anime and if you do enjoy the newer generation you'll most definitely enjoy this show for its mindless but sometimes meaningful fighting that has consistent animation quality. That's it for that review i hope it makes you watch the show and i hope you will enjoy it if you do so.

Dragon Ball Z, I first saw most of this series when it first aired on Toonami. I later watched it on DVD. Warning: The Frieza saga on DVD, about 5 episodes were blurry. I now own it on Blu-ray where the distortion was corrected. Dragon Ball Z, continues the chronicling of Goku's or Kakarot's life. He meets many of his Saiyan brothers. He meets the being who destroyed his home planet of Vegeta. He finds the origin of the dragon balls and their protectors. He fights many interesting beings such as Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu amongst many others. He meets interesting people such as the Kai's, the androids, Majin Buu's good half, Dende, Kami, and someone named Trunks. The art and sound was good, but doesn't really shine, especially not on DVD. The story and characters, really shine. But I'm most impressed with the amazing action scenes and the level of detail in them. The fights are a bit drawn out, it seems at times like they're trying to talk each other to death. I recently bought Kai and this might help this problem (Dragon Soul). The characters and story provide meaning to all the training and powering up. Goku and Vegeta both have families to protect and tournaments to win. Go away Hercule, "It's now officially national goof ball day." Krillin Quote The Dragon Ball series and Gundam series are the best gateway anime series. Why? Because they are in my opinion, the best anime series Japan has to offer. If you are new to anime, a fence sitter, or a veteran these series won't let you down.

Nothing is better than original DBZ and the movies... GT and Super are a joke.. Someone needs to come in and start off where DBZ left off.. Hopefully hand drawn... Would also be nice to a high production film Avatar quality come out based off DBZ movies or Sagas... The dialog, the plots, action, art style, everything about the series except a couple episodes where it looks like their hands got tired from drawing so much is flat amazing... I've yet to see a better animated series to date.. The charter building of Goku and every one is so amazing. Long live DBZ...

you know... i used to like this show as a child up until i turned 20, when a friend of mine angered by my personal bias forced me to re watch ONE of my favorite Episodes of DBZ, which is where i saw the light. As a former DBZ fan i'd like to say that this show is very deceiving, for some people growing up as a kid (i am one of them) as long as there were "hype" fight scenes and power ups it was considered a great anime but when your a young adult you have do the painstaking task of seeing past your personal biases and break down what you are watching. re watching a bit of DBZ i have come to realize that this show's plot simply consists of antagonists who want to destroy the world (cause their evil) protagonists shooting beams at antagonists with a clash lasting for 3 episodes coupled with the power ups lasting equally as long and the bleak characters and their appalling character development. In my opinion the only decent arc in this series was the majin buu arc, the villain was memorable and i could stomach some of the fight scenes and needless screams.

Dragonball Z; this was the show that I grew up with and continue to watch to this day. I plan to one day get all the DVD collections for all 9 seasons of this show. When I was a kid, this was the show that I had to watch everyday because I just loved it that much. One thing I never understood though is why this one came out before Dragonball, it didn't really make any sense. The manga clearly existed before Dragonball Z, so why didn't Dragonball come out before Dragonball Z? Well, I don't really have the answer and don't care because I really didn't enjoy Dragonball. Dragonball Z was a classic and epic show and will always be one of my old childhood classics. The story while keeping the viewers engaged and was great overall, there were here and there a few things about certain parts of the story that really didn't make any sense and came right the hell out of nowhere, but overall; was a very well written story. The art work and animation; superb! The art and designs of the characters were great along with the designs of some of the cities and everything. The music, outstanding; it had some of the best music and sound that I had ever listen to, especially; that rock opening theme was just great. The characters were great too, especially; Vegeta, who I can say without boast, is my most favorite character of them all. I do like Goku too, but Vegeta will always rain supreme in my mind since he was such a badass. Overall; everything about this show was just great. It's still one of my most favorites and I will not rest, until I've collected all the DVD collections so I can watch it over and over again.

A good anime with a true plot of personal growth through values, you can really appreciate and never get heavy following this series. It is recommended by how you can empathize and perhaps change very little by little along with the main character. That's what I call feeling identified.I also want to add that for the simple fact of transcending time, it is already considered a masterpiece.Do you understand the genius of this? 3 generations and even 4! it is already a series that escapes us from the hands and with a lot of love we share it with the people closest to us; a friend, an acquaintance, your brothers. At heart I do not think that another series like Dragon Ball Z will be done again and that it will be so successful that it can transcend time for many generations.

Absolute MASTERPIECE 10 across the board. Without this revolutionary anime there not be many top animes that came after it. Way ahead of its time and influenced so much of the anime culture. Spread anime throughout the USA like bruce lee did with martial arts. Thank you for my childhood Goku and the rest of the earth's special forces.

The story of Dragon Ball Z could be announced as: the sequel of Goku's path toward a very simple dream of becoming stronger and fighting ever stronger folk - only now has a family, responsibilities, and can no longer face every threat with the ingenuity of a child. It really lacks the complexity of more recent material such as Naruto, One Piece and most currently successful shonen series. Why then is it still alive after so long? Perhaps is it precisely due to such simplicity, which makes the plot all the more engaging and original. Before you even realize it, you're eager to follow Goku's almost predictable development... After all, when you first met him he was but a little kid. Odds are you, too, were one back then. This strangely engaging story is filled with good quality fights that really set the bar to the shonen genre, good art, character development that ranges from great to nonexistent (whereas some characters, like Piccolo, Gohan and Vegeta, undergo substantial changes throughout the series, others don't change at all) and clearly separated arcs with interesting plots and remarkable antagonists. Dragon Ball and it's sequel have hardly aged a day. Both are must-see masterpieces, and thus they should remain.

The latter part of the dragaonball manga is Dragonball Z. This anime has such a strong following and it's easy to see why. This series set the bar for super-power/action/fighting anime, and even new viewers will have the super saiyan ability on the brain after watching this. Though it goes over the top later in the series, the message remains the same throughout. Honor, friendship, doing the right thing. These are elements that carry through many dragonball z wannabe series that follow. Goku has a family now. His son gohan has potential that far exceeds his. but his mother doesn't want him fighting and brawling like his father. When their family's origins come to light as a new threat comes to their planet, soon it will take every great hero the planet has to protect them. Training through life and death with each new threat that comes, the entire universe opens to this family of saiyans. Throughout the series, Earth's protectors become guardians of the universe. If you have never seen Z, then you should make some time to see where a lot of your favorites have most definitely gotten their inspiration from. The wonderful characters, slapstick comedy, and incredible fight scenes make this anime stand above most others. Even though it's an older series, it does hold up well over time. The audio is the only real problem if you want to talk quality. Fanboy comments aside, Dragonball Z was rereleased later to shorten some of the dragged out mistakes. Watching the hero and villain take turns increasing their power can be a little tedious at parts of the story, but I like to count the amount of times they exchange that role. It's good for a laugh. Don't let this amazing series escape your viewing pleasure.

Dragon Ball Z takes you on some of the most memorable and legendary adventures of all time. This is one of the most influential and legendary shows ever. It has inspired countless mangakas and even video game creators, I never get bored of this show, and I have rewatched this a dozen or more times. The characters are peak and the story is great too. I absolutely love all the main characters and all the villains, from Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa to Buu, all of them are amazing and I also absolutely adore the character development every character goes through. We'll genuinely never have a better written successor character than Gohan in anything.

the story for me its a 9 because its starts off fast and i like anime that does that goku and piccolo fights radditz and goku dies and goes to king kai and trains to get stronger because more saiyans gonna come to earth and they gonna be way more stronger than the last saiyan that came. And the story continues and for me its just perfect how it keeps going saiyan to frieze saga to android saga to cell arc and buy saga.I would've give it a 10 TBH cause akira toriyama was planning to end it at the end of Cell arc but didn't so a 9. Art its a 9 too Tbh cause its a good 90s art like come on and miss the blood and other stuff sound its a 10 FOR SURE vegetal english dub voice actor christopher sabat just a magnificent voice actor he plays piccolo and yamaha and just perfect with other anime like all might and others i forgot lol not only christopher sabat the voice of gohan ohh and how would i forget CELL just a good voice actor soundtracks are just godly i appreciate it bruce falconer characters are just 10 for sure vegeta character his pride and goal just inspires me tbh not only vegetal prince of all saiyans govan a good ass character from a wussy cat to a badass characters and then turn nerd but the characters are just good TRUNKS,CELL,BROLY,PICCOLo and goku tbh enjoyment just a 10 enjoy every episode of it funny episodes sad episodes and throwing hands episode. Its not like naruto fight episode and next 5 episodes filler and they have fun and 10 more episodes of filler(just saying i love naruto but compare too dbz don't stand a chance) i know some of y'all hate DBZ bc the fanbase and i get it but people be saying "dbz has no story no character development and no plot twist" and it pisses me off IF HAVEN'T WATCH DBZ WATCH IT DONT BE A SHEEP AND SAY WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY DBZ IS THE BEST ANIME

We're talking about dragon ball here, the father of all anime, the daddy of fighting and shounen anime across all the board, the anime that was one of the first that had adventure and story and combat all in one, and single handedly destroyed the faceless op hero trend in the 80's as well as killing the fist of the north star's career. The characters are rich, the story is unique unlike any other, the sound revolutionized all of sound in anime, the art is well... amazing, simply put. i could write an essay about every single character in this entire anime over all, this anime is fucking lit and its impossible to cover it all up in one review, so if you havent watched this or the original db PLEASE give it a try

Honestly, creating a review without bias on your favorite anime is quite challenging, and gushing about the anime must be exchanged with cold-hard objectivity. For me, this anime is Dragon Ball Z (DBZ), the most popular anime in the west. Unlike most watchers of DBZ, my beginning with Dragon Ball Z was not on Toonami or though Kai, but through my younger brother pestering me to watch it years after release. Starting with the dub of Dragon Ball, then the 2003 remastered dub of Z, I have rewatched the series in every form numerous times since, with my personal recommendation going to the original Japanese release. Without further ado, the critique/praise begins! Story: 9/10 Dragon Ball Z is known for its influence over future shounen and its fights for better or for worse, and while this is notable, it does not play a part in this review. As an individual narrative, Dragon Ball Z is one of the most compelling anime in existence, through its main themes of overcoming impossible odds and perseverance to maintain peace, among many others. Every saga is strong in its own right, with a clear connection between sagas past a timeline of events being evident. For example, the set-up of the Saiyan Saga into the Freeza Saga and the established events and characters foreshadowing Freeza and the upcoming transformations are extremely well done. The limit-breaking and perseverance established in each saga is well-placed and the power scaling and limits are also well-placed, creating a dynamic and tense atmosphere with every fight. There are some flaws in the generous use of transformations, especially in the Buu Saga, but overall, it all makes sense within its bounds. In addition, Dragon Ball Z is touted as a predictable show by many, and while this is somewhat true, this is mainly due to its popularity. As a standalone anime, Dragon Ball Z stays unpredictable in numerous ways if one is not already spoiled on the plot. Expect all sorts of emotions when watching DBZ, from the sadness of loss, to the tension of battle. The role the Dragon Balls play in Z is not quite as apparent as the predecessor, but the importance of them when driving the plot still is retained. To note the Dragon Balls in relation to the show’s tensions, without stating any specifics, there are many times where the Dragon Balls themselves are not a get-out-of-jail free card. The threat of death matters in DBZ for this very reason, as it cannot and it is not always just wished away. There are too many good fights to talk about. Overall, expect an extremely strong and tense narrative full of action and suspense. Art: 7/10 Oh Toei Animation, why must you disappoint us? The art and animation of DBZ are most definitely the show’s biggest flaw, but do not let this discount the many well animated scenes, backed by Akira Toriyama’s near-flawless fight choreography and character designs. Every design enriches the world, with threats like Freeza looking sleek and ruthless, while threats like Cell match their design to their motivation and personality. The protagonists also have iconic designs, with transformation and power-up sequences staying marvelous in the anime’s animation. The backgrounds also create a great setting, with unique designs like Namek and rugged designs of Earth’s canyons, you will not be disappointed here. However, the flaws of DBZ’s art are seen in at least a dozen episodes, with a few important moments being littered with poor art. Hell, one of the animators is so notorious for blocky designs in the 5 or so episodes he did, that he is dubbed the “triangle guy.” The animation is more consistent than the art though, with the animation staying fairly solid throughout the whole series. Even this has its flaws, with consistent repeated key-frames and drawn out dust sequences staying ever apparent. However, the peaks of the art of DBZ outweigh the pits, with most important scenes being extremely well drawn, like saga ending fights, among many other scenes. Sound: 10/10 There is much contention of which release of Dragon Ball Z has the best sound direction, with debate between the Kikuchi and Faulconer scores and the voice acting staying ever apparent. In my opinion, watching the show in Japanese stays the most faithful to the source material, and conveys the most emotion and suspense. To briefly touch on the American version, the original dub is quite shoddy at first, but it improves quite a bit in the Cell and Buu sagas. The skill of Sabat and Nadolny as voice actors is quite apparent in the way they portray the cast. Some lines are still very corny and the delivery can be down-right strange, but overall the original dub has its merits. (7/10) The 2003 remastered version improves a little bit, especially on the Saiyan and Freeza sagas, but it is mostly the same plus the change in music. (8/10) The American soundtrack, the Faulconer score, does truly have some memorable and awesome OST, with classics like Hell’s Bells and Devastation setting a truly awesome scene. However, the flaw in it is that it just never shuts up. The average tracks are constantly played in scenes where silence is begging to exist, and it truly detracts from the potential of the OST. (6/10) Finally, the best version of the show, the original Japanese release. The portrayal of every character is masterfully done here, from the refined speech yet quivering anger in Nakao’s Freeza, to the regal tone of Horikawa’s Vegeta, everything here matches the characters perfectly. The lines are full of emotion, with anger and despair coming through clear as day past the language barrier. In addition, Kikuchi’s OST is full of memorable BGM’s, like the Genkidama theme. These are also used conservatively, with soundtracks in places of suspense or action, and silence where characters are bantering or a break in the action. And Nozawa’s Goku voice will wear on you, trust me. (10/10) However, every version has its ups and downs, so watch whichever release you want. Character: 10/10 This is where DBZ truly shines, and there is too much to say here, so I’ll try and tone it down. The narrative of DBZ truly lies in the character of Goku and the way he affects and changes the world and characters around him. Goku himself is seen as a child learning the world around him in Dragon Ball, and in Dragon Ball Z, his mature (yes, make no mistake, Goku is no idiot) character is seen developing as a family man and a warrior. The cast around Goku is just as compelling as our main character, with recurring characters like Piccolo, Tien, Krillin, and Yamcha coming to grips with the universal scale of DBZ. Each character here is given excellent motivation and development, with Piccolo being the most notable. In addition, characters like Gohan and Future Trunks are well-welcome additions to Dragon Ball Z, with Gohan’s place in the world of DBZ as one of a child facing all odds, and Future Trunks being the only warrior left in his time. The antagonists of DBZ are all unique and work extremely well within the universe. Vegeta is the haughty and vicious prince of the Saiyans, who finds competition in Goku quite early on, which develops into one of the best character relationships in anime history. The other three main villains, Freeza, Cell, and Buu, are all quite compelling and terrifying in their own right. Freeza’s narcissism as a ruler, Cell’s distinct terror, and Buu’s destructive nature all create a sense of terror in the viewer, something which not many other anime match. Through having to overcome the odds the antagonists pose, the protagonists find they have to persevere in any way possible, which affects some character motivations. Every character in Dragon Ball Z is likeable in their own right, and the writing of each character interaction is masterfully done. Enjoyment: 8/10 So, with all of this listed, it should be expected that I enjoyed Dragon Ball Z quite a lot. While it is true that my enjoyment of the series would be a 10 if I co…

I don't believe there is much that needs to be said that hasn't been said before about Dragon Ball Z at this point in time. By far, the most popular anime on the planet and one that has stood the test of time. While some aspects of the original anime have aged really poorly, some features remain just as timeless as ever before. This review is mostly going to focus on the prespective of the Funimation dub. The Japanese voice cast is not my cup of tea at all and the Ocean dub never existed to me outside of that "It's Over 9000!!!" Meme that popped up. But nonetheless, let's get into this one. A few years after the original Dragon Ball storyline arc ended, Goku is living peacefully. He has settled down with his wife Chi-Chi and things are looking normal for him in life. Until a Saiyan named Raditz comes, kidnaps Son Gohan and invades the Earth. With that in mind, Chaos spreads across the earth in just a short amount of time. Goku and his former enemy Piccolo manage to defeat Raditz but at the cost of Goku's life. However, a warning heeds that two more powerful Saiyans named Vegeta and Nappa will arrive in a year. Which leads to an intense training session for the rest of the warriors on earth. (Note, from there you probably already knows what happens.) I had to put this summary in because how else could I describe Dragon Ball Z's eccentric setup. Now, you probably know the main reason why people watch Dragon Ball Z's testosterone fulled action. It is for no doubt the action and frenzy that come with it. Dragon Ball Z's action remains the absolute best 30 years on since it's original Japanese debut. It is incredibly chaotic and really action packed. You see huge explosions, seemingly buff dudes throwing massive energy beams at eachother to defend a planet like an intense game of ping-pong and the universe's greatest warriors beating eachother to death in a satisfying way. Weather they are heroes or villains, you can't help but stay on your toes. Dragon Ball Z also thrives and sometimes fails on it's character interaction. It is also one of the reasons why the original anime hasn't aged as well as you imagined. While the dialouges between hero and villians are sometimes really interesting to see. Trust me, I was seriously on my toes when Vegeta was interacting with Freiza. Or when Goku was pushing his son Gohan to defeat Cell on his own. But the amount of waiting around for the best parts of the anime to start can really grind the pacing to a halt. It's like waiting around for fillers but they can be a thousand times worse. You might find yourself scoffing waiting for the best parts of DBZ's portions to start. It might be tedious, but trust me. Once you get to the action or when you really see the characters interact. Then, you'll be hooked. The characters, oh boy. Are they super eccentric and really fun. What makes Dragon Ball Z so memorable are the characters that you see on screen. Goku's aloof mind but incredibly strong will is so much fun to witness. Espeiscally when he conquers over his enemies. Vegeta's tough but hard working demeanor is prove that the underdog can succeed. His jealously towards Goku or "Kakarot" is the reason why he wants his "Prince of Saiyans" title. Many more of the characters you can either feel for and really relate to them for the better. Plus, whenever you see a villain you just want their reign to end. Dragon Ball Z truly succeeds because of its memorable characters. Lots of great supporting characters, villians and heroes to see in one place. As an anime that came out in the late 80's its presentation has really taken a massive hit in terms of quality. Lots of the backdrops look incredibly plain and super basic. While the artwork for the characters look absolutely timeless, the backgrounds themselves look pretty awful. While they pretty much represent what they need to be, it doesn't look very pleasing to the eyes. We've truly come a long way since 1989. The music for the Japanese version is okay to me, but it will definitely depend on your preference on what type of music you like to hear more. While the "Cha La-Head Cha La" intro is pretty fun. I'd much rather be head banging to "Rock the Dragon", as that into gets me way more hyped to be watching Dragon Ball Z. The American music provided by composer Bruce Faulconer absolutely sets the tone and makes the fights in the English dub feel way more intense. The music provided in the Japanese version is nice, but their is definitely much less variety featured. The American music gets the job done and sets the stage right for DBZ's intense and visceral action. I probably don't need to say much about the voice acting at all. The Funimation dub has such a solid cast of voice actors. Everyone sounds on point and fits their character traits very well. Whenever I see images of the characters the English voices always come to mind for me ASAP. That's how you know the dubbing team did an excellent job. Dragon Ball Z was truly the first anime I can remember that really pushed the action boundaries really well. It has fantastic centerpieces that feature intense action, memorable characters that people will always adore and a goofy but well admired storyline. While the pacing issues can really hinder your experience if you're a newer fan and the artwork really leaves a lot to be desired for. Dragon Ball Z is an experience I can't recommend enough for those who've never seen it. You'll truly see why this anime has defined a generation of fans.

Dragon Ball Z" follows the adventures of Goku who, along with the Z Warriors, defends the Earth against evil. The action adventures are entertaining and reinforce the concept of good versus evil. "Dragon Ball Z" teaches valuable character virtues such as teamwork, loyalty, and trustworthiness. This T.V Series is great to watch their is either the abriged version or the longer version which has more side adventures on the way. This is a great show and has shaped my childhood i highly reccommend you to watch it and there will be more discussions on dragon ball in general on my discord server so make sure you join link to discord server: https://discord.gg/BZZFphh

Dont let nostalgia blind you. This series poorly written, has a lot of plotholes and inconsistencies. It also uses overused cliches making it so predictable. I know it started the formula for the shounen genre but still, that does not make it good. Every story arc in this anime has almost the same storyline. Weird villain gets introduced- Beats MCs- Leaves them to "die" - Training Arc - MCs meet Villain again - MCs beat Villains. One Piece also uses that formula (even though they use this formula they still execute it well) but NOT ALL THE TIME. It at least has a "hype" arc (Sabaody, Reverie), a "fight for survival" arc (Whole Cake Island), a war arc (Marineford) and a retrieval arc (Water 7). In Dragon Ball, all are just formulaic arcs. Generic and poorly executed. One reason why Naruto: Shippuden gets hate is because they only develop two characters, Naruto and Sasuke. The rest just gets minimal to no development at all. The same could be said with DBZ. Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Krillin and other side characters are just one-dimensional fodders meant to be saved by Goku. They get little to no development. Only Piccolo, Vegeta and Goku gets proper development. Like the side characters, villains are also one-dimensional. They are just bad for the sake of being bad. The fights, the possible saving grace, are not really that good. Like the story, its predictable and it just makes me not care anymore. The choreography is not really that enjoyable as some say. It also lack tactics, which is what I want in a fight. Just beams everywhere. Overall I have no problem with people liking this anime but considering it the best is a different story. Its still better than Fairy Fail though.

It's not perfect, I know it. But Dragon Ball Z must be seen as a pioneer which has influenced most of the nekettsu and shonen works. It has some flaws, but it has given so much to the manga industry. Still, Dragon Ball Z is a great anime. The story is rather good, the characters are enjoyable and charismatic. But its greatest quality is to be so much enjoyable. It gives you feels, and it never stops impressing you. Moreover, it hasn't got really big flaws, and even works inspired by it are worse (Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail are sadly well-known examples). In brief, Dragon Ball Z is a masterpiece, a monument. It does truly have a legacy.

This says it all "Five years after winning the World Martial Arts tournament, Gokuu is now living a peaceful life with his wife and son. This changes, however, with the arrival of a mysterious enemy named Raditz who presents himself as Gokuu's long-lost brother. He reveals that Gokuu is a warrior from the once powerful but now virtually extinct Saiyan race, whose homeworld was completely annihilated. When he was sent to Earth as a baby, Gokuu's sole purpose was to conquer and destroy the planet; but after suffering amnesia from a head injury, his violent and savage nature changed, and instead was raised as a kind and well-mannered boy, now fighting to protect others. With his failed attempt at forcibly recruiting Gokuu as an ally, Raditz warns Goku's friends of a new threat that's rapidly approaching Earth—one that could plunge Earth into an intergalactic conflict and cause the heavens themselves to shake. A war will be fought over the seven mystical dragon balls, and only the strongest will survive in Dragon Ball Z." Just watch it you'll see.

Dragon Ball Z! I wouldn't be able to throw a brick and not hit someone who didn't know what DBZ is. This is the show that introduced me to anime and will always have a special place on my shelf. Growing up and following the adventures of Goku and friends was amazing and seeing all of the fights were an epic rush! The only downside for some people is this show has a lot of filler, talking, and screaming but with to me it was awesome!! The soundtracks great the animation is awesome and the storyline is great especially if your into fighting animes . All in all this anime is a master piece!!
